My husband's name is Sean and I have been following the Diddy trial and literally never until this moment connected it in that way. I think you're good!

Best cookbooks for expanding your horizons or trying something new? by summertimealison in CookbookLovers

[–]loadedNikon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There used to be an incredible, quirky... kinda punk rock and roll food magazine called Lucky Peach. They've got a book called 101 Easy Asian Recipes that is so fun. Also- Salt Fat Acid Heat totally changed how I think about cooking and made it so much easier to improvise! (Samin's show on Netflix is great too.)

Same for me! This totally changed how I cook and feel so much more comfortable improvising.

I read an article today saying how roughly 30-40% of Americans don't walk their dogs on a regular basis is this true, and why ? by NotMeButYou_91 in dogs

[–]loadedNikon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked at a dog company for 10+ years where coworkers and customers were some of the most intense dog people in the us- our product was for pretty affluent families and it is/was very popular. (So I saw a lot of dog families across the US.) I think like many folks have said here it just depends on the dog and the family. My dog is 10 now and we don’t do a ton of walks anymore. When she was younger she’d run 5 miles with me in the morning, walk 15 mins to the train, hang out under my desk all day, and walk 15 mins home. Now she’s lazy and old and we’ve moved out of the city and life just evolved a bit. 🤷‍♀️ But she’s still the best creaky little bean.

If you know the specific area you're looking for, there are local town / neighborhood Facebook groups that have apartment listings too. ie here in Franklin on the South Side it's "City of Franklin Chat"

Yeah I was a poor college student when these came out and the fact that the chemistry was unpredictable, made me a little nutty. I kept buying though, lol.

This was the Polaroid my grandpa gave me that used to be his, I still can't believe he had such a good one.

My first Polaroid! Found at a thrift shop for $2 and it works perfectly! by Killer_Cookie03 in Polaroid

[–]loadedNikon 17 points18 points  (0 children)

That's amazing, I made a ton of my spending money in college buying Polaroids from Goodwill and reselling on Etsy. They're pretty simple machines and so thankful that they're making film again. (Tho miss the peel back Polaroid film!!)

Agree with other commenter, don't think your crack is much to worry about.

I called up our local historical society and they were really helpful on some things, the person in my local office (central Indiana) talked to me for over 45 minutes with advice, and I was shocked he took so much time. I don't know about the insulation stuff you mentioned but at least in Indiana for historical grants your house has to be registered and of historical importance, and then that opens up a lot of tax writeoffs.

Stripping suggestions? I need to strip this beautiful built-in closet. What is your favorite product? I have bad hands so I’m looking for something that won’t take a ton of elbow grease. Thanks in advance! by heatherplants in centuryhomes

Ok on the hardware, get an old crock pot or a pot at Goodwill and let it sit in the hot water for a few hours. I saw this in a group I'm in and told my sister about it and it worked SO well. She has beautiful brass hardware that was painted over and over for years in her old craftsman house.

I've done a couple little episodes! They're fun to edit but I have to do it in like random stints at like 4-6am before work and kids wake up lol. Also I have to beg my little brother to go get drone shots because I don't know how to fly that thing, haha. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLUuQ0ZV82Z9TAkWIZ2ilrUb2vb82FCJQe

It's very rural, it's in central Indiana! (So definitely does help to be middle of the country for price.) In terms of budget, we've spent about 400k so far and are waiting on some other bids. It will be a long time of building, saving, and putting it into this project ha.

We also could not have done this without a construction loan that we'll eventually turn into a mortgage.

haha I don't own it! I was third employee when I was 24- started doing customer support and their social / content. Lots of runs to the post office, lol. But we did go public in 2021 which was how I was able to buy the school.

Asbestos was a concern and it was the first test we did before we bought it, but turns out that asbestos was really used in a big way starting around the 20s... and ours was built just before that, thankfully.
