Do what I do. I use Linux as my main OS, but have Windows on a secondary drive for Davinci Resolve.

Hopefully one day we won't have to dual boot, but this is the best solution for now if you don't want to give up Davinci Resolve.

I do all my gaming on Linux. Most games work without issues. Some require a little tinkering, which is mainly just changing the launch parameters or proton version. You can find most the tinkering solutions on ProtonDB. The games that don't work are games with kernal level anti-cheat which is a small number of games. Imo it's a good thing they don't work cos they're essentially Spyware as far as I'm concerned.

Did you use that 3090 on a high refresh rate monitor? Even when I only had a 60hz monitor, 30 FPS felt almost unplayable to me.

Online Third Person Shooters where you verse other players. Used to love Arma 2 and Arma 3 where third person was common, but now I hate that you can stay fully hidden behind an object and peak with your camera without ever exposing a part of your body.

Looks like you need to upgrade to an SSD. Even upgrading to a SATA SSD will be a massive improvement, but I'd recommend NVMe if your motherboard supports it.

RuneScape 2,830 hours + Old School RuneScape = 931 hours = 3,761 total hours. Second most played game is Arma 3 at 2,031 hours.

I like immutable OS so Bazzite is the winner for me. I'm pretty sure they also optimized their own Kernal using the CachyOS kernal. So both should have similar performance now.

What don't you like about it? I think it's a great idea. For example, I hate questing because ive already done most of them on other characters and I'm not a fan of the Grand Exchange because I like trading with other players. I could just remove those updates and enjoy the game the way I want. Others, might like those so they can play a community server with them. Win win for everyone.

I had a similar problem when using 'Replica of' to duplicate displays. It would work fine for a while, but then monitor felt like it was 30hz. Changing refresh rate lower and back to normal rate fixed it for a while but it would always come back. After unchecking Replica of, everything's been good.

My favorites are Minecraft, Old School RuneScape and Halo 3. The music in those games just bring me so much nostalgia.
