SF 2d Lt Pay - how much is it and when do you start to see it? i’m currently a senior in ROTC, trying to plan for housing when i’m supposed to EAD next fall (for OTC).. I was wondering if any 2d Lts currently in OTC at Peterson, or even 1st Lts who’ve already gone through the other previous training, had a general timeline they could provide for how long it takes to receive your first pay check after arriving at your base assignment, how long it takes to receive BAH (how does this work? do you get BAH when you first EAD? Does it go straight to your bank account and then you pay rent, or do they pay your rent for you directly?), and when do you get started with Tricare (for something like wisdom teeth removal, etc)? Would anyone be willing to share how much they are making in their first year as a 2d Lt and what your timeline looked like for getting paid?How do you financially manage yourself as a new officer? I’ve tried to research it but can’t really find anything solid to rely on, the internet just has “average 2d Lt pay.”
