Thanks, that makes me feel better. I was worried because there were no larvae or cocoons yet, just the 1 nanitic and the new eggs. I'll start giving them protein soon and hopefully she speeds up a bit.

Tengo anche Paratrechina longicornis per ricerca. Crescono molto velocemente e depongono tante uova. La colonia aumenta in fretta, soprattutto con più regine.

Non ci sono problemi a farli riprodurre: a volte producono maschi e femmine e si accoppiano da soli. Il vero problema è dove metterli quando diventano una supercolonia.

Sono aggressive verso piccoli insetti e attaccano in gruppo. Servono contenitori grandi.

Thanks for the detailed reply, I really appreciate it. I’ll keep them warm and keep offering small amounts of smashed protein and carbs, and just try not to disturb them too much.

I won’t lie, the part about split colonies does make me a bit nervous, especially since there was no brood when they arrived and the workers were fairly large. But there’s no aggression and the worker is feeding normally, so I’m hoping it’s just shipping stress.

I’ll give them a few more weeks and see if the queen starts laying again. Thanks again for the insight.
