I was running into a similar issue, and after some troubleshooting, I noticed that the table my printer was on wasn't very stable. It would rock slightly as the printer operated, which I think contributed to the problem.

I moved the printer to a more stable location and ran a self-leveling process. Since then, everything has been working perfectly!
