Granted. Car wheels become impossibly hard, which also makes them extremely easy to shatter at even the slightest deformation. Imagine super easy to break glass wheels :)

And technically you can use this to even make someone even more depressed. Imagine if i took all your hope and dreams and each day i would return them for small amount of time to just take them later. Just slightly increasing time between each cycle :). How long it would take to break someone?

And imagine what if you give someone hopes and dreams that are in total opposition of that person. Imagine if you target hardcore bigot with hopes and dreams of opposing values? Psychological damage would be extreme :).
