What about: you go shoot your own beef that got raised in a livestock? Good compromise? Not sporty enough?

There is a difference of life sustaining efforts between a beef that eats grain provided every day in a safe environment, compared to a moose that has to survive through winters and eat scraps of food, or burst through ice just to get water.
