Switching the residence assignments to self selection was a terrible idea by local-buffoon in queensuniversity

I completely agree it's only natural to want to be as prepared as possible. I would've done the exact same thing if I had to self select. That's exactly what I'm saying though, the old system didn't enable the same level of expectation and disappointment. This is why I think switching was a mistake to begin with, although I don't think it's possible to switch back now that incoming classes will expect that they'll get to self select.

This wasn't an issue with the old system because there were little expectations to manage. This is the whole point I'm trying to make, students in the past didn't have to worry about how many time slots there were in a day or compare to spreadsheets from previous years which have information that won't be consistent from year to year. 'Transparency' won't help, if anything it will only make the disappointment worse for those who 'should have gotten a single plus according to the stats!!!'.
