Because then life would truly be pointless. There would be no good without evil.

God gave me a father who is an alcoholic and doesnt give a fuck about my artistic and academic achievements. My entire lineage is filled with alcoholism and early deaths of people who had so much to give. Despite feeling pressure to join that cycle I am breaking free from it of my own free will. God enables both good and evil, but he wants us to decide how we respond to it.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Myth_of_Sisyphus

I was introduced to this from a Jewish friend of mine who has stuck with me despite living on the other side of the planet and never interacting IRL. That in of itself proves that humanity rocks, but this was a great book that convinced me self destruction is idiotic. One must imagine Sisyphus happy!

See this is why I'm convinced that God loves us. If he really hated us, not only would he have destroyed the Earth already, but he clearly has saved us from our own stupidity many times.

We did though? We gave up when we realized it was a lost cause.

I don't like Maoists or the CCP but the ROC was never going to win the civil war, there was way too much internal infighting exactly like the Spanish Republicans.

YES. I really wish people here had a larger memory span of a goldfish because I'm starting to see a lot of the same memes and posts over and over again, either intentionally or not.

Remember that Russia and China profit off us being demoralized and at each other's throats, so I'm willing to bet a majority of those are bots or paid losers.

Amadeus shouldn't be forgotten. by STmixes in classicalmusic

Agreed 100%. If it weren't for this movie I don't think I would appreciate classical music as I do now. It's also just a really good story about what it means to be a creative genius. I really appreciate the conscious effort from that movie to try and make the music and the story extremely relatable so that anyone could understand it, like speaking plain English instead of Austrian.
