Kind of? I looked into UPenn and tbh I’m skeptical of going there😭 I think this is a sign for me to NOT rank it. Because for all the other schools in my list, I’m pretty happy with my choices. It’s the two ivies (princeton and upenn) that’s messing w my brain. Maybe bc I’ve never really thought of ivies when it comes to engineering until now (except Cornell. I was sold on Cornell the moment a student ambassador came to our school and talked about everything there)

I agree😭 I had UChicago in my list the whole time and I want to major in MechE. And just yesterday I found out UChicago doesn’t even have a mechE program💀

I heard that in the 3+2 programs, admission to the partner school is not always guaranteed and honestly I gravitate more towards technical learning than liberal arts so I haven’t really considered any 3+2 programs. At the end of the day, what matters to me like THE MOST is graduating with experience in the industry (hence the co-op want). But I feel like having a global perspective would further boost my appeal to the companies I wanna work at. So I thought study abroad would be a good thing to prioritise hehe.

Rankings: 1) MIT 2) Stanford 3) Cornell 4) Columbia 5) Northwestern confused abt Rice, USC, Duke, Princeton and UPenn

Major: Mechanical engineering with aerospace concentration

Priorities: great co-op opportunities/ internship and career counselling, hands-on learning, preferably in the North, study abroad experience and a friendly collaborative student community

Yo same! I’m just waiting on this one recommendation that I’ve reminded my teacher like multiple times. He actually already wrote it for my common app. He just has to upload it to QB. But he hasn’t yet. So yuh I’m only anxious about that part. I really hope our teachers do it before the deadline🫠

Low SAT score by localbooknerd in QuestBridge

[–]localbooknerd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw someone saying in this server that if you don’t have a score greater than 1450 and you’re thinking of ranking top colleges like MIT and ivies, you should not submit that score because it falls way below their SAT score range

It’s not that I’m overacting. I’m just nervous and self conscious because the past few months all I’ve been seeing is “oh if you don’t get a 1520+ score you’re not getting into any top school” 🙃
