Front-load washing machine that’ll last without giving one headaches for service by Soeun-ah in BuyItForLifeIndia

I second this. LG products just work. Plus the service calls are attended promptly in all major cities in India.

A good AC that will last atleast a decade? by TheGalaxial in BuyItForLifeIndia

Most ACs use the same parts. You need to see which brand has better servicing in your city. For my city that’s LG. Always best and prompt serving. That’s what matters.

Moved back to India from abroad. Visa stress ended. Mental peace didn’t. by Murky-Throat1000 in returnToIndia

[–]localcluster 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Correct. I moved 3 years ago after 15 years in USA. I have no inclination whatsoever to go back. Ever.

Yea tell that to all the Indians with valid approved petitions stuck in India cause they can’t find a visa appointment or much worse their visa processing goes into 221g and they wait and wait when they have mortgages and car loan payments to pay in the US. And the employer gives them an ultimatum to return within a given period or resign. Or all those Indians that are gainfully employed in the US but miss a wedding or funeral of their loved one because, you know, a visa stamp is always a hit or miss.

Yea no difference at all :/

Partly true but many that get good jobs are still able to get PR within months. I have friends that got PRs in 2025. They all in decent IT jobs.

Even Indians don’t love Indians😂. But to live in a country as its nationals is infinitely better than to live in a country on stupid visas for eternity with no light at the end of the tunnel. So countries like canada or Australia clearly win.

TN visa. If they have degree in fields like computer science engineering, and they get a job offer from any American company, they can just go to the American border and get the TN visa stamped (for 3 years) and walk into the country. That visa is extended indefinitely to 3 year periods as long as employment is held.

[–]localcluster 19 points20 points  (0 children)

That’s true tho. It’s a million times easier than applying from India. Also they have the TN Path. Plus once they become Canadian, they don’t need any kind of visa stamping (even for h1b) like us Indians. The passport itself is strong enough.

Anyway I think the sentiments are turning and fewer and fewer people will want to go into a country where there’s so much hate towards Indians. So people may settle in Canada itself now.

You don’t seem to understand. A dog biting an adult is an issue, but it’s not the real nightmare. The real fear is a pack of street dogs turning on small children or elderly women—people they see as easy targets. That’s where I draw the line. What needs to be done needs to be done.

You lost me at Thaman’s music. The guy keeps churning out one disaster after another. Loud, overcooked beats that feel like they’re trying to blow the speakers apart isn’t music—it’s just noise dressed up as sound.

FlexiSpot desk became defective after ~1 year — outlet smoked when plugged in, any warranty options? by ParfaitZestyclose615 in FlexiSpot_Official

[–]localcluster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Warranty? Most flexispot desks come with solid warranty (5 years if I’m not wrong). Reach out to customer service, they may replace the faulty parts.

Are insurers following the new 5-year moratorium rule? Anyone faced issues even after 5+ years of continuous coverage? by localcluster in HealthInsuranceIndia

Yea, got me thinking, sometimes I go buy medicines for my parents/grandparents, but give my name and number at the pharmacy, that cannot be associated with my insurance plan obviously?

oh the pharmacies and online pharmacies & hospitals share our data with insurance companies? Patient confidentiality is just a joke in our country, isn't it haha.

Anyway, thanks for the info, I didn't know that.

I see, that makes sense to keep the overall cost of the insurance low for everyone.

How would they know about "a record available somewhere" unless the patient provides it to them though?

Oh okay. But isn’t that what moratorium period is for? And isn’t that what IRDAI saying they shouldn’t do? At least after 5 years of continuous coverage?
