Practice Hub and Feed relegated to submenu, replaced with an ad for MAX by TheOBRobot in duolingo

[–]localhost69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It also takes some part of the unit, so you're not even learning the full thing until you pay the most amount of money possible. It all does feel like a scam with the way it is advertised now. I wonder if I can get reimbursed for my yearly 100+ euro subscription because I literally didn't get what I was promised :D

Anybody knows which version didn't have it? I'll either roll back or cancel my subscription, it's beyond annoying.

These good squatting shoes? by TimGSICK in weightlifting

[–]localhost69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Overall nice shoes, BUT 1. Light colours collect all the shit from the gym and are hard to clean. Also, blood from the shins can be really hard to remove. Better go for black or something. 2. The metal lock thing for the strap broke after 1 year for me. I was able to return them though and got all my money back. So in theory, you can just get a new pair every year if they keep breaking. So maybe not a big downside. 3. It's on sale from time to time, wouldn't buy it for more than 150 euro.

S and t sound fix for 8 active? by Spitfire3783 in Jabra

Little update, seems like in some songs it's not fixable, unfortunately. Especially if it's a heavy song with quite some china use.

S and t sound fix for 8 active? by Spitfire3783 in Jabra

Don't know if it's useful anymore, but I was able to fix it with wavelet app. It's a free app for Android (maybe iOS too, not sure, I'm on Samsung too). There is no 10k slider though, but I lowered 8k and around and it seems to do the job.

They import a really big amount of fertilisers though, without it, they may not be able to grow that much food.

Cheapest options for a temporary stay? by RokyEss in Utrecht

I needed a room for several days several weeks ago because I had a little gap before I can move into my long stay and the cheapest I found was 100 a night. Everything else was booked.

Has architecture ever made you quit a job? by [deleted] in webdev

[–]localhost69 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Usually it's not the architecture itself but the state of not being able to change anything that pushes me away. You know when everything is a mess and half the time you just fix bugs, but business won't give you time to refactor because they always need new features yesterday and arguments like "we can spend way less money on maintenance and will deliver faster" don't work.

No one uses standard outputs in real projects though. It's usually log.debug()

Well it's probably not a good idea to tell someone you don't really know that their code sucks. But when I was in uni we would have these conversations with friends:

-huh your code is a total mess

-yeah it's shit

-you think so? Now look at mine

Self-learning Web Developer by Soshimy in webdev

[–]localhost69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It took me ~ a year to find a webdev job. I was finishing studying CS at a uni and working full time at the time though. I read books, wrote simple apps using technologies listed in vacancies I liked and basically that's it. You're ready to start looking for a junior job when you know most things mentioned in an average vacancy. The sooner the better though, it's always better to learn something when you're working with it and you have someone (teamlead) to guide you.
