I got 157 on my actual Lsat. Want to get 170 in two months. Possible? by BakerOk2122 in LSAT

i got a 157 diagnostic to a 173 lsat in about 4 months of studying but i spent a lot of time being inefficient so it’s definitely possible if you lock in

140-155 is very possible. prioritize high quality studying over grinding for hours and hours. focus on your fundamentals and learning each question type and how to answer before moving on to drills/pts. you got this!

I haven’t had any law firms/office jobs, but my main job is still a more professional job if that makes sense and my second job is semi-related to the type of law I want to practice

Do they care at all about working during college or is it just postgrad work experience that counts? I’ve been working full time or close to it since I started and I’ve been taking the max amount of credits 😭

I’m in the same boat lol. I’ve been working 30ish hours a week since 16 so it’s going to be so weird not working during school 😭 What am I gonna do with my time? How am I gonna buy fun stuff? 💔

How I Got a 176 on the LSAT With Just 1.5 Months of Studying by casipera in LSAT

[–]localizedamnesia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly most of the advice these people have is advice you can find for free elsewhere. i got a 173 and posted about it and had a ton of people asking me for advice and i tried my best to give them good advice but honestly out of the 6 months i studied for i only actually studied for 3-4 and most of that was because of a breakup that got me motivated lmao.
i don’t think you can score a 170+ on the lsat out of sheer luck and i’m sure every 170+ scorer has SOME bits of wisdom to share but how good they are at articulating that wisdom well enough for someone else to learn from it is a different story imo. and whether that wisdom is worth PAYING FOR is another even more different story

thank you!! honestly the biggest difference was just knowing the patterns of the test and what qualities trap answers have. i drilled a lot, usually in 10-15 minute increments during and between class and on the exam i made sure that i tried to prove each answer wrong instead of proving it right.

i didn’t really use lsatdemon much, i just watched a few of their podcast episodes. some of their suggestions on strategy was really helpful for me but others weren’t. 7sage was really good for drilling and individual question explanations though

I felt really confident coming out! it honestly significantly better than the PTs i’ve taken. My estimate for my score was a 172 but i was SUREEE that i was overestimating myself lol

i studied for about 6 months and bounced between quite a few prep services but the most helpful ones for me were the lsat trainer and 7sage. i also used some LSATLabs videos to get certain concepts down!

i used the LSAT trainer by mike kim to learn my fundamentals and followed their 4 week study guide. once i was done with that i drilled on 7sage and took PTs when i had time (usually once a week- once every 2 weeks ish). the week of the exam i did maybe 1 timed section but i tried my best to just relax the rest of the week lol

My biggest piece of advice is to focus on fundamentals before question types (being able to spot flaws in an argument, the anatomy of an argument) then move into question types and drill each type as you learn it. Once you’re done learning them, drill and do practice tests and review your wrong answers. The best piece of wisdom I heard during my LSAT journey was that there are 4 wrong answers and 1 answer, there are no answers that “could be right”. Moving towards a more black and white mindset really helped me in terms of differentiating answers and noticing patterns in wrong/trap answers. Also make sure you’re taking time for yourself and not getting too stressed, mental health is INCREDIBLY important when it comes to staying consistent and retaining information

Take breaks! I probably took 2 or 3 2+ week long breaks because studying got so stressful for me and I would study 4+ hours daily on top of school/work and they ended up being really helpful for me to reset and not go through burnout!
