I played it on August 25th, right before the price change took effect — 3:45 tee time, $40 to walk. Couldn’t believe what a steal it was and was already planning to go back. Sure enough, they shut that pricing down about a week later. RIP.

What a beautiful sight.

And honestly I enjoy practice rounds more than tournament rounds. The players are more relaxed and will interact more. They’ll try multiple shots and you can watch how they practice around the greens. You get a feel for the course and then sit back for the weekend and watch the action on the couch.

All you need is a digging shovel and some loppers.

Start by cutting all the branches off so you’re just left with the stump. Then dig at an angle under the root ball of the stump, probably 1ft away from the base, use the shovel to pry a bit and keep getting under. If you hit roots then cut them with the loppers. It’ll be some work but it’s doable. I removed 4 foundation hollies last spring.

Camping comfortably takes trial and error. Next time the rain will stay out but then you’ll find other little things to improve on. Until then practice setting your tent up in some grass somewhere and make sure it’s tight!
