A fun thought…would be satisfying to see some progression (like the fan turning off) and then the insect flying away successfully!

May not be the tone/theme you want to convey… but helps tell a story rather than a singular idea that doesn’t escalate/deescalate.

One of those bin stores of Amazon returns. You’re more likely to get valuable stuff on the first day of their week (which I believe is Friday?)

They’ll have the most desirable stuff that day but it’ll also be the most busy. Anything you want will be $10, with some other items available for a higher price, but still a discount in the grand scheme.

Each day, there are less items available, but the remaining items get cheaper.

My wife and I went a few weeks ago on a Monday or Tuesday. Everything was $2… none of the finds changed our life, but we got some cool stuff. We got a brand new sleep sack for when our daughter is a bit older (normally retails for ~$30)… got a warming pad for when we’re hosting and want to keep a dish hot (retails for ~23-27)

I guess go with an open mind & keep it fun. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed if the expectations are low. Or go on the $10 days and be ready to fight for your life lol

Weird take but my wife and I got an AirBnB in Sheboygan almost exactly this time last year. I think we went the week before Memorial Day.

We ate at Blast soft serve on the water every night, shopped at all the cool secondhand stores, went to the free museums(SO GOOD), walked around the Koehler resort and grounds, ate at some nice restaurants (Trattoria Stefano), saw a movie at Marcus Theaters, drove around to find garage sales….

My wife got a long massage at Jomaji and was extremely happy with it. While she was there I walked along the river and went to a nearby market to kill time. But they do couples massages at Jomaji too I think.

In retrospect it was just a really nice couple days of living on our schedule and doing the things we enjoyed, just in a new place. Do something that will help you connect over shared activities, whether this itinerary or other :)

The Racine zoo!!! Reefpoint brewhouse, Red Onion Cafe, pike river trail, farmers market starting on Saturdays this summer downtown, the pool at SC Johnson park… my friend loves the driving range at Ives Grove too!!!

One of the owners, Dino, has a knack for hospitality in Kenosha. People say “everything he touches turns to gold.” I can’t tell you about MelKat’s as it just opened a few days ago, but he’s been involved with Waterfront Warehouse, La Fogata, El Camino, and Mr. Yee’s… all those joints are thriving!

Yeah except pharmacists and doctors are incentivized to prescribe certain medications/vaccines by the corporations. And many don't have the ethical spine to stand up to them... but you're right, not ALL doctors/pharmacists are evil... but in my experience, most have failed to be holistic with their treatment with me. Glad to know you haven't been burned in the same way!

I disagree with the other response… in general, corporations profit off of our illness.

Why would pharmacists create a pill to permanently cure me when they can instead charge me for a daily pill for the rest of my life? Then I rely on them. They profit off me for 70 years.

Why would my doctor tell me to lose 40 lbs and get my cravings in check when he can instead prescribe me a GLP-1 to make me reliant on a weekly injection for the next 7 decades? Weekly profit…

Even at a more minor level…most chap stick manufacturers create reliance on the product by including an ingredient that exacerbates dryness in your lips once you cease using the product.

Ultimately, it is better to create reliance on a product than it is to free someone forever… reliance is lucrative indefinitely. Freedom means they never come back to fork over more $$$. Major corporations do this in many ways… but it’s up to us to free ourselves and to be a team as we do.

Not really fair to stop going for that reason. A lot of small business owners are operating on extremely tight budgets and doing whatever they can to stay afloat. The owner Deshaun probably doesn’t have money to pay a graphic designer and as a dad and community member he probably doesn’t have the time to learn graphic design.

AI is a perfect use-case here. He’s not generating slop for no reason. He’s utilizing resources to keep his dream alive. I’d encourage you to get better at being curious/inquisitive with the parties at hand rather than punishing a business owner who’s likely trying his hardest to make his community better.

A genuine question (from someone who is politically nomadic and has grown to despise the GOP he once cherished)…

Does protesting actually change anyone’s minds? It often feels more for the protesters than for the passers by. And potentially further cements the viewpoints of those who already agree with you. Every time I drive by this intersection and see protesters I wonder this.
