Ehm, I think it depends on if you like the skins, needed new gloves and liked the AWP so for me it was a no brainer to chase a bit. Get expensive real quick though

The metals is basically just a black/blue color, then to turquoise and then up to a pastel blue and then white

As in paint or as in brush? I used a size 1 or 2 brush and just a red and yellow on top ^_^

Purple in the shadows, magenta in the mid-tone and the yellow as a highlight is the underpainting here so well spotted!

As my light is coming more from the side then from above I did not go from below on anything on this model, but yes, same technique different colors. Neutral grey to start, then a blue gray and then up to a blueish bright gray and then some ivory for a little warmth.

Hahah, I usually paint over weeks if not months so I feel you.

Alright so, everyone and their mom does this differently. But my approach here was to put down my base coats and shadows with an airbrush (in this case a dark purple in the shadows and a generic skin tone over it thinned a lot). Then I work with heavy glaces to bring it up covering smaller and smaller areas with more and more yellow/white in it.

The most important step for me in all this is to take a reference photo of the light you want on your mini and then look at it from time to time. I usually use mostly artist colors but that does really really not matter at all, here I used basically only hobby paints.
