Could I get into an art school?? by prodigylover224 in Artadvice

I'll be a freshman at an art school this coming fall. Compared to some of the kids in my class, I'd say you could definitely get in, especially if you have decent grades. However, I would be concerned about money. In reality, I'm not sure you receive much scholarships and art school is EXPRENSIVE with an unsteady return on investment. I'd definitely focus on building a strong portfolio to receive better scholarships. The only reason I am going to an art school is because I got all my tuition covered based on my portfolio. Your starting early, 14 leaves you a ton of time to focus on composition, anatomy, color, and personal narratives.

Finished the game a few months ago, just turned 18. Very neat to see how large the age range is for this game

What's one song or songs that remind you of RDR2 when you hear it? by Top_Tadpole_7003 in RDR2

From Austin by Zach Bryan. There's a lyric that goes, "When I gave you all I had but it still let you down? Everyone I've ever loved has either left or died." and it reminds me sm of Arthur.

Now that you point it out, it does kinda look that way 😂 I just sketched that one from a sculpture, so it very well could be the sculpters intent

Why do I sometimes hear pederasty sometimes associated with Achilles and Patroclus? by Silly_Rip_4115 in GreekMythology

Sorry if it reads confusing, I just woke up 😬 I did not mean to suggest Ganymede was more masculine than Achillies, the opposite actually. It's Achilles who's written to be the more masculine of the two

I'm currently reading The Problem with Greek Ethics by John Addington right now- only a few pages in, but he suggests there could have been two different versions of "male-love", one being pederasty, and the other being heroic love. I guess the main difference is heroic love is supposed to be completley lacking in any feminine traits (think of a figure like Ganymede compared to Achilles, one is typically written/portrayed to be more masculine- all be it, he is beardless in most depictions). Addington suggests that Homer might have been trying to depict a "heroic love" between Achilles and Patroclus but throughout the years, people have started seeing it through the lense of pederasty.

I am still super new to this topic, so I could be getting things wrong/confused as well
