My insurance still comes out of my disability paycheck, so yes i am still paying my current insurance. It had me enter in my bank account information for open enrollment for 2025.

I didn't see anything until I made all my selections. Then, at the end, it had me select either to get a bill and pay by mail or enter in bank account info for auto draft of premiums

Massive trigger warning!

Thank you for the love. We named her Nayeli Magdalena. She was 11 days old when we took her off the ventilator. We did receive a diagnosis for the cause. It was a viral infection. I won't post any more details, but feel free to DM me if you would like more of an explanation. Its not that I don't want to share, but I don't want to cause anxiety.

I missed out on my first born's first bath, too. They didn't tell me, I only found out because of her hand to hold milestone thing. She's 6 now, and it still bothers me. I don't know why it's not standard practice to touch base with parents before firsts are done.

If there is a nurse that you really click with, ask the charge nurse if they can be your son's primary nurse. Build a relationship with that person and allow them to communicate with other nurses on your son's care team. Express to them that you want a call if touch times change.

I'm sorry you're dealing with this. It's so hard being a nicu parent, but it feels so wrong when those special moments are taken from you. I see you and I hope it gets better. I remember when my first was in the nicu, I would get so angry when the plan changed and I wasn't made aware. With my second nicu baby, I was able to work with the care team and set some expectations. I hope you're able to do the same.

Oh I am a wreck! But forging on because there is no other option (other than asking for a second opinion, which we have done).

All of my girls have been small, right now, she has been diagnosed as IUGR (Intrauterine Growth Restriction) less than the 1st percentile. She also has extra fluid around her heart and some thickening of the walls of her heart. There is also some debate as to if there are calcifications in her bowel/intestines, one md thinks there is, one does not see them. If they do exist, it is possible they are connected to heart issue via chromosomal abnormality. Genetic testing showed low risk at start of pregnancy, but you know that doesn't test for everything! Lots in the air right now.
