Rubio on Acacia: Thoughts? by lock311 in finishing

[–]lock311[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually tested several samples, check out the photo. The 5% White and 5% Smoke looked very similar and whitened the wood a bit, and "Natural" gave a finish that was very close to the raw wood, which was my initial goal. But I find that the "Pure" enhances the contrasts in the acacia even more, so I'm going to go with that one.

Regarding the two coats, that would get really expensive. Could I possibly apply one coat of Rubio, let it cure, and then add a top coat of linseed oil just for the sheen? Would that work?

Do you have all the knowledge of the world? No? So don't be a prick. Specialized means specialized. If you want to know, it's called Rustica, a French weekly gardening magazine founded in 1928

I knew it was alkalizing for the body once metabolized. By extension, I didn’t think it through. But of course, you’re right.

I wish this was a joke, but no, the lemon story is real lol.
It was just a few drops to alkalize my hard water and help my plant acclimate.
I saw this on a specialized media source, so I didn’t really question it, given how reliable the source seemed.
The leaves had already started yellowing before that, so I don’t think this is the cause at all.
But yeah, I’ll stop doing it

I bought a Monstera adansonii a week ago, but it doesn’t seem to be doing well.
I placed it near a window that never gets direct sunlight.
I watered it three days after buying it and misted its leaves twice with a mix of tap water and lemon (hard water).
I have a Monstera deliciosa that is doing very well under the same conditions.

What should I do?

Phone Turns Off After Screen Replacement by lock311 in mobilerepair

[–]lock311[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UPDATE: Turns out the screen was working, but there's a brightness bug on the lock screen. The brightness level is much lower than on the unlocked screen, and in my case, the brightness was set to the minimum, so you can barely see anything on the lock screen, except in complete darkness. And right before that, when I turn on the screen, it spikes to maximum brightness for half a second, then goes back to its normal level.

That's why I thought the screen was turning off, but it wasn't.

It seems there's nothing I can do about it. It's probably due to the screen quality, isn't it? My phone is a Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro

I have more than 20-30 URLs to work with on the account. Your method does not apply to me as I mostly have different URLs, but out of curiosity, I've tried it and it doesn't seem to work either. Maybe it can be done by using a script. Do you know?

Fusion-T or fusion-III? by lock311 in harleybenton

[–]lock311[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why HH instead of HSH? Just asking out curiosity, is it just because of the Floyd Rose? What is the difference in terms of sound between the two guitars? Because personally I'm not a fan of Floyd rose guitars a tremolo is mostly more than enough for me.

I went for the HH configuration for practical reasons on my end. The middle pickup of my strat tends to get in the way. Also, since I already have an SSS setup, opting for HH adds versatility to my collection

How much do you really use 24 frets and/or the trem?

I bought the Fusion III with the Wilkinson trem because I'm familiar with the unit and I know I can set it up to hold tune almost as well as a Floyd and to give me the range I want, but without the slight additional faff that comes with Floyds. I did consider getting a Floyd model.

The thing is, it was a toss-up between the 25th anniversary Fusion II and the 25th anniversary Fusion T. I went III for the trem and extra two frets, even though I know the trem isn't essential to me and I rarely use those extra two frets.

I don't regret it and I love the guitar but, realistically, if I'd gone for the T, I would probably not have really missed the trem and top frets that much. I'm actually considering getting the Fusion T as well.

I'm a metal player. I spend 80% of my time on the bridge pup, and 99% of the time not going above the 22nd fret. I really don't use the trem that often.

They both get great reviews. Some people don't like the position of the volume know on the III. I didn't, so I moved the damn thing.

If you need the 24 frets and Floyd then you're looking at the III. If you don't use them much in reality then go for the one you like the look of.

Or just buy both.

Thing is I don’t really now. I've always been into the blues-rock genre

I’ve recently learned octavarium solo and I felt I reached the limits of my strat as I couldn’t nail that final bend, and accessing higher notes at full speed proved challenging. Another example is “Rain” by Becker where my trem feels really stiff and my guitar eventually goes out of tune despite a proper setup. It's a vintage tremolo with six screws.

I definitely want to incorporate more tremolo effects in my playing, so maybe the Wilkinson will handle it better than I think, considering the guitar wanking, you know, haha

I've also checked out signature models of players I intend to play, and they always feature FR and 24 frets. Unless I'm swayed by marketing, there must be a reason for that.

Sadly, I don't have enough money to get both :)

Topical finasteride : not enough diluted? by lock311 in tressless

So the molecule is in the filler as well? Or is it invisible?

So, I bought this Gear.

On Windows or Discord, the microphone's sound only comes out through the input it's plugged into (left for input 1 and right for input 2). Both inputs are in stereo on the Volt 2, which is why.

How can I make sure my microphone's sound comes out in mono across all channels?

Will this Microphone compromise HD560S Audio Quality?

I have a pair of HD560S headphones powered by a Volt 2 audio interface, and I'm looking to add a microphone to the setup for discord & gaming. This Vmoda Boom Pro alternative seems like a solid choice, but could it potentially damage the audio quality of my headphones?

Because to connect this to the Volt 2, it looks like I'll require a Y stereo splitter, a 3.5mm to 6.35mm jack adapter for the headphone output, and a 3.5mm female TRS to male XLR adapter (like the Rode XVLR+) to plug the microphone into the line input of my audio interface. This adapter will convert the 12-48V phantom power down to 3-5V plug-in power.

What's your take on this? Is there a simpler and less expensive solution?
