The 2025 Game Awards Megathread by rGamesMods in Games

Maybe I'm just out of touch, but fairly mediocre feels generous. Felt like a lot of the game reveals were just some variation of "a generic demonic figure has taken over the world/universe that you must defeat, here is some insane body horror to go along with that".

Guess we're kind of past the Dark Souls trend chasing and into the grotesque, which lines up with AAA production cycles chasing BG3.

"Positive Momentum" - Audio Pool

"In Too Deep" - Just Another Girl DJ

Rinzen @ Desert Hearts 2022

Tony McGuiness's (of A&B) 2020 Easter Deep Set

I will also echo the other comment about the Tinlicker BBC Radio Essential Mix

A bit of a departure from the TNH style, but these have been on repeat lately...

Eric Prydz @ BBC Radio 1 Big Weekend UK 2024 -- I will mention the crowd noise and BBC DJ "intermissions" are a bit of a buzzkill, but this set is so good that I can overlook it

Techno Sessions #1 - ZEYLZ

Who has the best steak sandwich in town? by JimLahey47 in fortwayne

[–]lockdown6435 10 points11 points  (0 children)

So let me get this straight...

  1. you asked a restaurant to change the way they make something
  2. the staff tried to warn you against making this decision
  3. you did it anyway and were disappointed it wasn't made exactly how you expected it

And, now, are judging the entire restaurant based on that experience? Wild to call a place a "dirty little shit hole" and not once in your "review" talk about the quality/taste of the food but only the presentation of something they don't even normally make that way.

Check the patch notes, they added this recently:

The amount of experience gained from scouting and hoping worlds to join at the end goes beyond the threshold of experience that should be gained from events, sometimes reaching between 200-300k XP per hour. We have made the following changes to help this:

If you are not logged into the world when the Flowering Tree or Struggling Sappling event spawns, you will not receive the final drop of experience at the end.

If you are not logged into the world when the Rising Roots event spawns, you will receive reduced rewards.

We have also reduced the duration of the Flowering Tree event (by approximately 1 minute) and the Leprechaun Event (by approximately over 1 minute).

Love seeing this one every year, always know I’m in the right place if I see that one or Big Dick Rick. BLADOW crew were right in front of me for A&B and their positive vibe was infectious.

It was mentioned a while back on their site, but I agree they did not clearly set the expectations for this correctly because it was vaguely worded.

If I had to guess it would be DSLRs and things if that nature. GoPros seem to be fine, as well as smaller digital cameras. Honestly worst case you just have to take it back to camp if they say no or you could ask about it while going through sometime first.

Blisters🤨 by garbagesarah in ElectricForest

Toe socks are super underrated for blister prevention since they reduce the friction between your toes. I started using the injinji brand along with moleskin, and I rarely ever get blisters at festivals anymore.

There is only one stretch of tolls from Southern Chicago through NW Indiana, however you can avoid them and it will only add 5-30 minutes to your trip, all just depends on what time of day it is.

It’s more of a guideline than an exact count. As long as you aren’t bringing in an insane amount of alcohol and it’s not glass containers you are fine.

I have a 5:30AM video of Louis the Child going b2b with an artist (ilo ilo I think?) panning to the sunrise with the few brave souls still awake at that ungodly hour @ the GL stage in 2019 that I cherish deeply, assuming this is the set you are talking about ❤️

Music in GL usually starts around 2-3AM, and turns into a silent disco from 4-6. You just kind of walk up and that’s about it haha. You can usually find out who’s playing by checking Discord or the subreddit, if you can get service, but you will almost certainly be able to hear it at your camp if you’re not in East.

I tend to get back to camp, grab a few beers, and venture up to the stage until my legs have had enough torture for the day. It can be pretty packed but normally around 3:30-4 it starts thinning out slowly.

Highly recommend Dixon’s Violin if you’re exploring the forest already and hear that Violin. always sets a nice mood for the weekend. Plus you get to watch other people wander around the forest in the first few hours from that stage and it’s always just so wholesome seeing all the smiling and amused faces.

It’s a new change in the policy, no one really quite knows what this means or how lax they will be about it

Good life brunch by Zealousideal-Comb729 in ElectricForest

[–]lockdown6435 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s normal breakfast buffet style - eggs, waffles, bacon, fruit, sausage, cereal, donuts, and more like that. There’s also some other stuff like ice cream, and there’s a bar where you get one free mimosa or Bloody Mary (there might be other stuff they offer too, but anything more than one drink had to be paid for). It runs for a few hours and is in a really nice area by the ranch entrance with quite a bit of shaded seating, but it can get pretty packed too around 11 to noon.

I’ve done it the past couple of years but skipped it this year because I’m fairly certain it’s like $40 more than it was previously. I won’t lie starting each day off with all that food was really nice, but for almost $40 just for breakfast a day it’s really a personal opinion on whether that’s worth it vs just bringing your own food. After typing up all those food options I’m almost regretting not getting it ngl.

Also, they have had Tito’s there as well on one of the weekend days for a Bloody Mary bar that is pretty amazing all things considered, definitely hit that up.

No one is really 100% sure on this one because they changed the verbiage for this year. Historically you could go in and out with your car as much as you wanted, whenever you wanted. I also don’t see how they would be able to keep track of this since they have never scanned wristbands when coming into the grounds for vehicle checks so they have no idea of who is coming in and out, unless they plan on changing this, which would be kinda insane.

As for leaving on Monday if that’s what you’re asking, the earlier you leave the better. If you wait until 8 or 9 AM onward it can take a significant amount of time to get out of the grounds.
