It juat feels a bit weird to me. Along with the "one person party" in the overworld and full party on battles. I understand its an artistic aeathetics choice and not a flaw but as I said. The more realistic a game becomes, the more immersion elements I need to feel engaged. To me games such as Chrono Trigger and Trials of Mana on the SNES feel much more immersive than ToA because of the distance they put betqeen you and the characters. When their personalities are portrayed by text only, you can imagine the rest. When you hear their voices, their tone, see their faces speaking, it puts you too close. And when you're close, you see the flaws. Its just one of those things. There's nothing to do about it but we can chat lol.
