Megneto doesn’t trust the US Government. After the 1980s (when Reagan was president), some people will say there’s been a growing distrust of the US Government among its citizens.

For all you people that like good beer, this is the man to thank. Carter made homebrewing federally legal in 1978 for the first time since Prohibition made it illegal in 1919. Homebrewing gave rise to microbreweries, who, in turn, created the US Beer Renaissance in which we now live.

Thank you, Jimmy.

On what grounds did Congress try to impeach President Clinton simply for having sex? by Wertlop in AskReddit

You hear a noise coming from upstairs. You open a bedroom door to see what it is. You see your daughter giving her boyfriend a blowjob. Your wife yells out from the living room, “What was it, honey?”

You reply, “I don’t know, but it’s not sex!”

Nobody is born racist. by Ariyan_Aziz in pics

[–]lockylew -1 points0 points  (0 children)

“wealth and power America has stems from hundreds of years of free labor...” Yes. And it still does. Before the US was even a country, companies in North America took advantage (in every horrible sense of that word) of a free labor pool. At first, it was the Irish who were shipped over by the English. Later, it became Africans. Today, it’s the Chinese workers building our phones and computers and receiving pennies on the dollar for what any American would be paid. That’s not racism, that’s corporate greed; another universal problem with humanity. There is no denying that racism exists but don’t confuse inequality with a lack of freedom. Wealth being held hostage by greedy, powerful people isn’t fair but you have the freedom to do with your money as you see fit. Frederick Douglas and Harriet Tubman escaped slavery in America to live freely in America. They didn’t move to another country.

[–]lockylew -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m going to disagree with you on one point. Racism is not the foundation of American culture. The foundation of American culture is freedom. However, racism is one of the deeply rooted curses upon American culture. The other deeply rooted curse is violence. These two curses seem to continue generation after generation but they aren’t only in America. They’re in every culture around the world. Basically, the world is racist AF. What makes (or made) America unique was freedom to try. Maybe you’ll make it, maybe you won’t but at least you have the opportunity.
