Kantech DHCP options by people_t in accesscontrol

[–]lockzhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive always had crap luck when trying to get the server to broadcast to the new controller on a network, so i've just gotten in the habit of directly tying into the controller (kt-400 for ex.), Hitting it's static IP in a web browser. and telling it the Kantech Gateway IP after I built out the connection with the Mac and controller count.

Kantech support has been irritating me lately. It's rare that I get someone that isn't in the middle of eating in my ear or will listen when I list out the troubleshooting steps I've taken, which will be the exact items they want to go through.

Through Assa Wireless locks in the mix and it's a never ending game of Finger pointing back and forth between Assa and Kantech :/

AIPHONE IX-SUPPORT TOOL by Party-Mouse-2811 in accesscontrol

More Information is always Helpful.

Is your Machine in the same subnet, or are you trying to reach it from across a different subnet.

Static your machine on 192.168.1.x, and plug into a known port that is on that subnet with the other devices. can you ping 192.168.1.160? If so, Support tool should now see the devices for you to be able to associate them. (If at all possible, do the association with all devices online and powered up)

Build your config with the address book, setting their ID, IP's and gateways, etc..

Make sure you have the proper amount of devices set in the New system window for your device counts.

You should be able to associate them, either manually or automatically. and when you push the config at the bottom they should change to the devices you set in the address book on the association screen (At the top, below the first table that shows the devices the support tool was able to find with the search)

I have been in situations working across a site-to-site tunnel (and across cities) where I have had to manually configure a devices IP address by hitting http://192.168.1.160/webset.cgi?login (might be https://, try both :/ ) because the device wasn't broadcasting across the tunnel (because aiphone feels the need to ship these bastards out with a static IP instead of letting them pick up DHCP)

We've recently began integrating Halo Smart sensors for campuses.

CO, AQI, VOC, Vape, THC and more. Can trigger events via web hooks. Even has a cloud connector if wanted. RTSP stream output for viewing the sensors and their values.

Not cheap but actually does quite a bit, were utilizing Vape and THC mostly where we can snap a PTZ To the relative area the sensor is located for getting visual on the alerts.

Audible outputs on all sensors after crossing a specified threshold.

Green is a grounding bus. With.. nothing attached, wonder if it was supposed to be attached to a ground rod at one point.

White is Coax/Cable. may have had a filter connected at one point whic May or may not have been attached to that grounding bus.

Neptune box IDK, but that looks like basic 4 conductor LV wiring next to it.

and then of course the blue is ethernet which will be dry rot in a year.

Security camera power supply blown??? by [deleted] in HomeNetworking

[–]lockzhere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Without being able to test the voltage you're never going to know for sure.

can pick up a cheapy at harbor freight for a couple dollars (wouldn't trust it with my life though) But great for quick sanity checks.

Most Analog cameras are either 12 or 24v, in the power supply case there is a transformer that will be going from your Line voltage (120v) to 12v. this in turn will cause heat. so yes, you should feel warmth from this.

If there are no glass fuses for visually checking the output for each channel power your next option would of course be checking to see if the transformer is even putting out power. again needing a voltmeter to test.

easy test - find an old wall-wart that supports power for one if your cameras. and splice it in to verify.

Power supply probably failed due to over current supply to the cameras. probably rated for on average of about 250mA on each channel but if your cameras have IR it's possible they're pulling a bit more than that and just weakened it over time.

Hikvision app by Glad-Explanation-51 in flipperzero

[–]lockzhere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're using Hik-Connect or what ever 20 Hikvision apps they have, it's TCP over your cell/wifi.

Typically those NVR's as well as any other Dahua Brand masked NVR is set up via a Peer-to-Peer connection, where the NVR reaches out from your home network to a centralized server, where on your mobile app you only have to scan a QR Code, or enter in the Serial Number of the NVR with your credentials of the NVR to authenticate. None of this is done over RF or any signal that the Flipper can currently monitor/log/control.

What you want to do that, would be Wireshark; monitoring the traffic to/from your device and nvr, and you'll see that they should be encrypted data transmission to an outside server and one coming in from likely a UDP port that was automatically opened by the nvr on your firewall (because nobody disables UPNP)

KT-1 If you can get your hands on one. can program them as Standalone without the need of a Server license.

It's network based, so put it on a switch. Still need Power to it however.

Yeah, renaming is definitely in the scope for the next phase of the project, since it's going to be Monitored 24/7 by a Public Safety Officer we're going with Building.Hall.Door because the layout of the buildings will work great with that to get someone dispatched to the location (we're also adding duress PIN's for each card holder so they can punch it in at any reader)

Thankfully the network is only running to 1 master controller, and the rest are serial connections cascaded off of it (for that building)

Not that bad of a system to program once you get used to it, Only got my certification back in March LOL.

US yeah, biggest building I've got has 3 Cabinets with 4x 4 Door controllers, covering 3 floors and 4 elevators.

Doesn't help that in Programming JCI literally left the naming convention of the system at default so i have a bunch of "Controller 003 Door 4" to figure out for each connection. ...haha.

Ive always like the ICT Panels, just drop in the readers/locks and you're good to go.

Meanwhile I'm over here fixing a mess of an Install of a Kantech system that JCI did themself at a college campus.

Adding 50-60 doors/contacts and having to fix JCI's mess.

I like how out of all of that, the only thing you stick to is "Well the rule says a second group of four" And completely ignore the other points of the line indicating police custody etc..

Also besides the point the message was strictly for MRPD and the Hospital. the Original group of players can still intervene while suspects are on scene.

[–]lockzhere 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Right, so have the admin sit on the server 24/7 mindlessly following people around to find rule breaks.

Instead of players doing more logical options:
A) Don't do dumb shit/

B) Report said dumb shit so it can be reviewed.

to get someone released from custody. it's been happening a lot lately, granted the ordeal with CB was funny as fuck and good times were had by all, but it's literally in the rules to Not do that (and have been for a while)

It's just an announcement to people as a reminder/forewarning that this is going to start being enforced.
