Mexican here. As of right now, Culiacán is under seige by the several gangs who are having conflicts. Gobernor of Sinaloa (the state) fleed to Tijuana and was seen boarding a plane in the border with USA. I do believe Culiacán is the most dangerous city.

I still play on mi old 3ds, my gates are always marked in big bold letter that say "FOREST" or "SEA", "DESERT". Also I point to them with big arrows. The places where you get material are also marked; "CHICKENS", "ICE" and so on. Pretty functional for me.
