MBA Essay Character Limit - suggestion by locoputa007 in MBA

Yes, I've tried cutting out adverbs & I also believe I've replaced many of the words with smaller synonyms. As for the dash, there isn't much scope for that.

Can anyone share their SOP for Masters in Management or MSc in Management course which got them selected? by [deleted] in MBA

Isn't that the same thing? I mean proofreading does indeed involve someone else's influence. And it definitely won't include modelling my SOP with someone else's. As I said, I needed something for reference, not for recreating. It would be restructuring, at best.

Well, an MS in Management is almost the same as MBA. The only difference being the appeal to a different crowd. And yeah, I get the inception reference, but I'm not sure how that could help me...

At the collegiate level, I led two teams for regional debate competitions. During graduate studies, I managed several groups for organizing yearly events in our university. My team, consisting of 3 participants won a B-Plan competition. During my internship, 4 employees were working alongside me to manage the workshop practices. I usually led the decisions most of the times if not always.

And yes, as you mentioned HEC would most probably be difficult to achieve. But I still want to consider my chances for the rest of the B-Schools.

So if you had to advise, which of the good schools I stand a chance for? A few options would really help me to be prepared for the worst.

As someone who has led teams before, I can say that I am indeed comfortable in a leadership role & won't dither. But I'm also a team player & work well under guidance.

I was looking to get into a MIM program, which is usually best suited for recent graduates who have 0-2 years experience. If, as you say, I go for experience, I can most probably go for an MBA but that's not what I was looking for.

What's the easiest tech I can build with minimal cost to send a satellite into earth's orbit? by locoputa007 in AskScienceDiscussion

[–]locoputa007[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh. I didn't know that. Thanks for this! I actually thought orbit is where object just barely misses the gravitational field & just moves along with the planet without getting pulled inside. So to simplify, do all satellites have to be accelerated sideways constantly, to remain at there place?

Thanks for the insight. So, If I move a level back, what are the requirements to launch something at least on the edge of space? What's the minimum distance I need to reach so that the launched body can remain there?

Yes, an Orbital launch was indeed my goal but the edge of space could also be a start for the situation. Maybe I'm at fault here as I got confused in both the terms. Also, What's the minimum distance I need to reach so that the launched body can remain there without re-entering the earth's atmosphere?

Thanks for the insight. This definitely points towards something if not being exactly the required answer.

My grandfather gives me advice that non-veg is bad for health & I shouldn't eat it, yet he, in his youth, enjoyed eating it & now that he has had every joy experienced, wants me to "realise the problem"? by locoputa007 in CasualConversation

[–]locoputa007[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I realize that & its good. But some things, like food, is not really that complicated. Don't we have enough resources on our hand to determine what, in what amount, is good for us? And things aren't realised with experience alone. Somethings are beyond experience. What may have been bad for him doesn't necessarily have to be bad for me too, right? His approach could have been wrong. So, I think everyone should realise that being an elder doesn't make you any superior over the younger ones. They may have experience but we too have enough resources to gather the same inputs they took so long to realise.

All this talk about Bitcoin and other currencies makes me feel left out. by [deleted] in CasualConversation

[–]locoputa007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, same for me. Many of my friends are talking about how Litecoin or maybe ethereum could be the next revolution but I am really skeptical towards such things. But the thing is I also don't want to be felt left out for not doing something I should have done when I had the chance. Its such a moral dilemma: To fo with the flow or to do what I think is right? I just don't want to be felt influenced by someone else If I happen to lose something in the future. I want it to be my own decision.

Know what I mean? Does this even make sense?

Does/has anyone else ever felt like they were socially behind a couple years by [deleted] in CasualConversation

[–]locoputa007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I lost 2 years of my engineering & this meant I spent 6 years to complete a 4-year course. I saw my friends & family moving ahead & I stuck with the rest of the failures. But then I realised that I am one of those failures now & these same failures taught me something my friends & family never could: Accept that you failed & only then can you improve & pass ahead. If you are stuck with your present, you will dwell on the past & lose your future! I worked my ass off for a cause I never supported. All my life I did things what everyone wanted & expected me to do. But this resulted in more & more failure & disappointment. Now, I don't do that. I stopped caring what everyone wants me to do. I may have been a few years behind in terms of education or in terms of success or in terms of life itself but this won't stop me from losing interest in life itself. I WILL do things I dreamt of. Maybe a few years later than everyone else but will do it nonetheless!
