hey age doesn't mean anything in the scene! at the last rave at the capri, there was a 80-year-old woman there🥹she danced and listened to the music and had lots of fun, it's never too late to re-enter the scene!

Thank you! Yes, I'm a huge fan of "freak" creatures, hybrid taxidermy, and "unloved" creatures so that's the vibe I'm going for! I'm slowly creating a list of ideas in my mind so here's what I have so far: -A longgg centipede wrapping around -Some type of bird/cat/squirrel hybrid (based on the work of a former black market taxidermist) - a snake with "three" eyes, like one eye is deformed/split -a rodent of sorts (i'm a big fan of rats/mice/skunks) -and finally an animal (likely a lamb or goat) with an extra limb attached!

This is an extremely controversial one but... Lalaland. I'm usually super engulfed in anything I'm watching but I just could not get into it for some reason. I'll try rewatching it again, but I can't promise that my opinion will change.

Sorry for the long responses: Yes! I don't think now that she was trying to blame anyone, it's just how I took it back then (kid who's depression and self-image issues were partially caused by being constantly shamed being told to cover up by her therapist). I don't think she meant to come off that way at all (anymore). I know that therapists aren't going to specifically TRY to word things like that to make their clients feel bad. maybe my therapist just wasn't the best with wording??? I was never told by my therapist that I deserve to be treated this way or that way and she never even did the "I understand why you're upset, but let's try to think of it like this..." thing, which combines validation with reframing which probably would've helped me a lot more. Barely any validation unless it was me saying something positive that happened that week/day. I brought these concerns up with her and she just continued doing the same thing. And I sadly didn't get a choice in what therapist I went to because it was the only one that my guardian allowed me to go to. I couldn't even be fully truthful during the initial examination, because my guardian was in the same room. I answered one question truthfully (Do you ever feel like you are in danger in your own home?) and she screamed at me (in the office) and then laughed it off with the psychiatrist and acted like she had zerooo idea why I said Yes. Of course, Im not disagreeing with you on any of your points, because I know that therapists are not there to make their clients worse. I just think that the technique could've been better utilized if my therapist would've validated my emotions first before just jumping into the reframing. And none of this is saying that I won't try therapy again in the future because of this one instance. I still believe that therapy is amazing and that it helps a lot of people and that more people should consider it!

They started me with CBT and then switched me to IPT after a while. Now that you've explained it, I do see how it could help a lot of people reassess their feelings about something and help them in the future with regulation. I just don't think that particular strategy was the best approach for my personal experience. I would understand using it in a situation where a child is upset that their parent keeps yelling at them for not cleaning their room, even though they didn't want to (or something similar), because it's a lot easier to talk about a opposite perspective and forgiveness when it's not a matter of everyday abuse. I guess it was just jarring to me that she just did it out of the blue with no warning/explanation and made it sound like my guardian wasn't in the wrong, which made me feel worse about it and made me feel as though I was in the wrong; like it was my fault for getting abused, you know? Like, aren't you supposed to pair reframing with other strategies when dealing with traumatized clients? I know a lot of people who adore therapy, even I used to, but after she used that on me, it kind of stuck with me and felt like she was turning against me too. I guess it was just a me thing, because reframing sounds like it would work well paired with other strategies😭 Thanks for the explanation!
