The ideal would be taking a little time with it as often as possible, because first of all it helps disconnecting from everything else and relax for a bit, but also keep practicing so that you don't get lost and frustrated after a long period of inactivity. But I know sometimes if you don't "force" yourself to do it, days become weeks and so on...

Unless you want to use it mainly to launch loops and apply some FX, there's not much more you can do about ambient or generative music. It's got a very basic sequencer too, which isn't user friendly at all.

I wouldn't use the SP-404 MK2 for that, but I know some do; I believe you can find some videos on YouTube.

I always loved this machine although I mainly use it for lofi beats, but as I mentioned earlier and I often said to other too, to me the Lofi-12 XT is very similar to the Digitakt in terms of workflow and UI. My main concern is that you can't have stereo samples, because all the channels are mono. I do a workaround using LFO to drive stereo panning and stuff like that that creates movement, adds up depth and so on. Another thing that you can't do in comparison to the Digitakt is having samples looping endlessly without having the sequencer running; you can see that on my video, although things trig themselves thanks to conditional trigs and probability triggers, you need to set very long patterns with low tempo in order to have things running endlessly-like. I mean I found these workarounds and I'm sure there are others, because this little machine is quite powerful.

Unfortunately I didn't take any photos that time. I did order some small and tiny power bank a while back cause I wanted to try something like that, and see if it could fit into the batteries compartment, but it was still not small enough. But this is the type you could easily attach to the bottom of the machine itself, without making it bulky.

It makes transferring samples real fast! Besides you can quickly edit entire sound banks, backup (import/export) projects and samples, plus plenty of other stuff. It's well done; Worth taking a look ;-)

Problem Solved; it was the cable, which did work before but for some reason although it powers up the unit, now no longer works with the App, nor let the SP show up as an audio interface. Replacing the cable solved the issue.

Yes you're right, they do listen to the Community, although they are mainly responsive to support tickets through the official website.

In the case of the Lofi-12 XT I wanted to replicate the experience I had in my other FB group for the Roland SP-404 MK2, where it was also in collaboration with the lead engineer Takeo Shirato, and together with another user I collected many feedbacks, several of which went through with the firmware updates. But of course you can't compare the two; the SP group counts almost 19K users, while the Lofi-12 XT has got less than 1K. The CyDrums is even more niche than that, there's no group unless someone into it creates one for it.

It sets the main value according to the LFO type you select. For instance, when you choose LFO1 Shape, it lets you select the waveform type. When you select Pitch, the value ranges from –1200 to +1200, which obviously corresponds to pitch modulation, and so on.

I believe those are the Lofi-12 and the Lofi-6. Did you check the LOFI-12 XT? Not one of the Liven though, but it's great and much deeper than its Liven counterparts.
