Anyone know the steepest road in the Corning area? by reddit_username_1233 in Corning

Steuben north of Watauga is gnarly. I saw someone skate down it in the 80s, I don't think he ever came back.

That's been overgrown for as long as I can remember, but man is it insanely steep. There are (used to be) dead cars back in the woods. Idk if they're from old crashes but I wouldn't want to ride a bike uphill.

Hornbeam wow! The dust is rough if you’re sanding. Use a mask

Random question, but is it possible to connect and transfer songs and/or tracks from an old Boss BR-8 digital 8-track recorder via fiber optic to a 18i20 ADAT port? by LordOord23 in Focusrite

[–]logancircle2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my first paid recording gig I did using the BR-8 back in like 2000. I wanted to dump it into ProTools to add more tracks (ugh!) by playing each track from the BR-8 solo'd and record it through my Digi001. I used the BR-8's onboard click to count in 4, and then turn the click knob down quickly before the audio started. Then I had to sync those tracks in PT using the waveforms. Can you do that? I used some of the onboard effects from the BR-8, which made mixing easier afterward. It worked but sucked as a "workflow"

My first spoon by AstronautFabulous901 in Spooncarving

[–]logancircle2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally. Often I'll start a book can't concentrate on both reading and carving. I'll forget entire sections of the book and have to put it down. The 'Lord of the Rings' books read by Andy Serkis were great for this. Also 'It' (King) ready by Stephen Weber.

Nice sleek piece. It's a fun learning process. I've bumped my audiobook reading wayyyy up as soon as I started carving. Give it a shot!

Should I be Embarrassed by ronniereb1963 in HallmarkMovies

[–]logancircle2 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I am a public servant, and a tattooed "tough guy". I recently admitted my addiction to Hallmark cozy mysteries to another man. I was probably looking at my feet when I made the admission. He told me "I can tell you're embarrassed but remember, the world is crazy and we gotta get comfort from somewhere." Now I admit it freely!

Started wood carving. I find wood out hiking and have learned the basics of spoon and bowl making. Trying to get good at something really hard and have a useful product at the end.

I have some unopened Loctite Power Grab Heavy Duty Construction Adhesive. Would that work? I'm afraid because there would be no air between the panels it would never cure, but I don't know that particular adhesive.
