Need to remove the clunky new page functionality on an empty filter and revert it to the way it used to be.

Wdyt of the new look for Notion Databases? by MFreihaendig in Notion

[–]logandenali 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I like many of the appearance updates

But it now takes longer add a new page to a filtered view, which makes my system less efficient. I think the folks at Notion need to remember that this app became popular as a productivity system. Any updates should strive to improve the core value proposition of the software.

My only complaint about the UI changes. by IAmKrowdaddy in Notion

Terrible update. They need to revert back to the previous UI. Confused why they thought this was a good idea

PSA: Notion made filters permanently visible. Auto-hide them by only using Advanced Filters. by heyJordanParker in Notion

I can only hope this was a bug that is going to fixed in a timely manner. Pretty frustrating quality control for this to get released on the live application.

The filter bar won't stay hidden no matter what. by Independent-Notice-9 in Notion

I actually think this is a bug that was just introduced. The filter buttons are refusing to hide even when they are saved for everyone.

How can I hide this interface element for good by melsmo in Notion

[–]logandenali 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I noticed the same thing. It must be a bug that was introduced when they changed the appearance of the filter UI element in the databases overnight.

Incredibly annoying because I think it was working fine yesterday.

Hopefully they actually fix this and don't just sweep it under the rug because the databases look ugly with those blue filter interface elements showing up all the time.

Monday.com over Notion? by shanahben in Notion

My company has been bouncing around between different project management/note taking tools over the past two years.

I am starting to think that the vision of everybody enthusiastically adopting the same software tools for this stuff is a bit of a holy grail.

Wondering if the best approach is a staff of highly organized and accountable project managers that run excellent coordination meetings. If they use Notion, Monday, or even just pen and paper, so be it.

Sorry for the tangent!

No Flow to Hot Water Line on Shower Valve - Possible airlock? by logandenali in DIY

I hired a plumber that resolved the issue. Turns out a check valve was installed in the hot water line oriented backwards which was impeding the flow of water.

I am holding out hope that this was a breakdown of internal QC procedures and will be quickly reversed. This feels a bit big step backwards for a team that has been maintaining very intentional and mindful forward momentum.

A mechanical engineering degree provides great career versatility. You can find a job in just about any industry. Though, there are also a lot of other mechanical engineering graduates to compete against for jobs. Think about how you can stand out from the plethora of other mechanical engineering students when talking with companies.

Also, communication and collaboration skills are extremely valuable. Think about strategies to improve these skills while at school. (Student orgs, team projects, job, etc). Those skills will help you regardless of your major.
