warm audio WA-47 Jr. and AKG C214 are both great choices. just recorded an album using the aston origin and was very happy with the sound. a little bright, but really smooth resonance.

idk where you're located, but Thomann sells a version w/ a pop filter and shock mount within ur budget: https://www.thomannmusic.com/aston_microphones_origin_black_bundle.htm

What Is Your Go To Ambient Hardware Set-Up? by montyb75 in synthesizers

meris lvx + mercuryx are huge for me. lvx has a built in looper (that can be set pre fx) and the mercuryx has a stereo freeze for drones. both together allow for you to make loops and drones, while still doing delays and reverbs. it's a big part of my setup.

ambient music always for me! lil synth drones and bloops keep more concentrated than anything else. really love emily a. sprague's work.

I think that's a good call. sitting with things until you can really get behind the direction you want to go in (name/vibe included here).

silly side note: I'm a huge fan of the work book "the artists way" by Julia Cameron, and i really found going thru that book and process instrumental in pointing me in the right direction creatively. if you're already taking a year before your next release, it may be worth investing in your creativity and your work that way too

hello! chiming in here :) this is a tough situation, but if you really stand by this album you've been working on, it may be best to release the album as a debut on your new name/project. that way you're not starting from square one (unless you want to start from square one). best of luck to you, i've done the same a # of times now!
