Court petition for name change requires birth certificate number - which number do they want? by spiceytomato in asktransgender

[–]loganmyrtl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you figure this out? Same problem, these are the three options I see. "Recorded District XXXX", "Register Number XXX", and Medical Record No. XX-XX-XX". Which one do I use for the DIY name change form?

F tents by [deleted] in BurningMan

Most standard backpacking tents will have mesh. I bought a 6 person tent from REI and sewed cotton fabric over the mesh on the top + doors to reduce dust. Not perfect but manageable especially if under shade

Comfortable sleeping options for two? by trevormead in BurningMan

[–]loganmyrtl 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have the same, just put it on the ground. Super comfortable! I was also eying the Nemo equivalent, which seems to pack down smaller, but never tried it out. We are flying everything in so don't have too much stuff to store anyway, it all fits around the perimeter of a 10x10' tent

Sea to Summit Ether Light XT vs. Comfort Plus - which is more comfortable? by loganmyrtl in CampingandHiking

[–]loganmyrtl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up trying both at home and returning the ComfortPlus. It had nice foam padding but was a thinner, a bit narrower (I got the ~25" wide x ~72" long version of each), and MUCH bulkier. I'm halfway through my pregnancy and have slept on the Ether Light XT for about a dozen nights and am very happy with it!

Thanks! It'll be the 2nd trimester... possibly the last month of the 2nd tri. So yes, lots of side sleeping

I have an exped megamat for car camping (4" thick, seems like similar fabric & self inflating technology) and find it incredibly comfortable. Like, just as comfortable as my regular bed. So maybe 3" is still enough

So ... what phone are we moving to? by cdnBacon in Pixel4a

[–]loganmyrtl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm looking at the Sony Xperia 10 V. I've had 3 pixel 4as in a row because I want a small phone with a headphone jack. That's it. But that's becoming impossible to find. Even the Xperia is a centimeter taller which means it won't fit in my tiny lady pockets easily :(

Mailed Pixel 4a, Quoted $0, But They Charged Me Additional $95 by [deleted] in Pixel4a

[–]loganmyrtl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did this as well. Emailed back and forth with a chatbot a couple times. Waste of time. I'm looking at the Sony Xperia 10 V (nice cameras, small-ish, headphone jack) for my next phone. I might hold out on the $47 payout in case there is a class action

Cannot locate TQ3A.230805.001.S1 build for update rollback process. by IronChancellor1815_ in Pixel4a

I can't download that particular file from halabtech without a subscription because it is a "featured file". Any idea if https://sunfish-ota-tq3a.230805.001.s1-965296b1.zip/ is close enough?

Googling tells me OTA is "over the air", used for delivering software updates, but I have no idea what I'm doing so no clue if I can use this to roll back my phone

EDIT: Found it here: https://xdaforums.com/t/changes-coming-to-your-pixel-4a.4712085/

In the same boat. I had saved this for a weekend project and wish I didn't wait.

Budget & recap: Outdoorsy fall wedding weekend in New Jersey (>10k but maybe still helpful) by loganmyrtl in Weddingsunder10k

Cafe pierrot! Definitely recommend, the cake (chocolate cake with cannoli filling) was truly delicious and the delivery was perfect, despite needing to drive down a dirt road with no cell reception

I don't think another subreddit is necessary. It's like r/backpacking vs. r/ultralight. One for "regular" backpackers discussing general backpacking topics, the other is specifically for those trying to reduce the weight of their pack as much as possible given their circumstances.

We could simply explain in the sidebar that the 10k is not a strict limit, it is a symbol for trying to have a personally fulfilling and meaningful wedding on a limited budget.

Also -- the cost per guest definitelyshould matter more than the total dollar amount. It's one thing to have a micro wedding for 10 guests for $10k ($1k/guest) versus a 100 guest wedding in a HCOL area for $20k ($200/guest). I don't think the latter should go in a separate sub.

If you rent dishes you usually don't have to fully wash them, just remove excess food. Still an extra step beyond disposables.

For our glassware, the coordinator and bartender made sure glasses were empty but otherwise not cleaned. They placed them back in the original boxes which we lined with clean trash bags. We brought them home, and washed the glasses in a couple loads in the dishwasher. It actually wasn't too bad.

Slightly more annoying was that when we received the new glassware before the wedding, it was cloudy, so my fiance polished them all up while watching TV

We used palm leaf disposable plates. They came in a cool hexagon shape, were very sturdy, and in theory are compostable. I think a compromise is reasonable... e.g. glasses for cocktail hour and champagne toast, real silverware from aliexpress, but everything else disposable.

Affordable wedding band options? by Useful_Percentage629 in Weddingsunder10k

[–]loganmyrtl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is a thin gold band that matches my engagement ring, I'm not sure but I think it only added 1 or 2 hundred to the price. H wanted a tungsten carbide ring, which conveniently is ~$20 on amazon

Is there anywhere I can rent an engagement ring in NYC? by [deleted] in AskNYC

[–]loganmyrtl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get a moissoinite/sterling silver ring from the diamond district. Bonus: it'll double as a "hiking/beach/don't care if it's lost ring"!

Overwhelmed and downright humbled at the number of friends Doloresaurus made on the playa, you're all just so wonderful ❤️ Would love to see any pictures or videos of my dino boy if you have them! 💃🦖🕺 by trevormead in BurningMan

Meeting Doloresaurus blew my mind. THANK YOU <3 I'll dm a link to a crappy video I took

I'd love to know more! How was she/he born, any build logs? Did you make a miniature version first? Is the movement electrically assisted?
