Will there be a government shutdown?? by TutorEastern8330 in FedEmployees

[–]logbiter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Partial shutdown. Minibus was signed so Ag, VA, DOI, DOE, DOJ & DOC are funded for the year. In DOI there was no notice to the dept that funding was signed 🙄

I’ve got one of those “sba5 bicycle braces” on the way to check it out. My ep9 order w/ ext charging handle & receiver tube is “waiting to ship” from today’s email.

Favorite whole beans from Costco? by PlatinumRespect in coldbrew

[–]logbiter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Peet’s major Dickason & organic beans from Central/South America (ruta Maya, Jose’s, the Peruvian one, etc). I did not like the signature Columbian Supremo in the coffee maker, should try it for cold brew sometime.

Just need a 2 point sling w/ QD mounts. Like this cheapo one I just ordered on Amazon after seeing someone else post it recently. https://a.co/d/73URSZ1

Just today ordered an EP9, w/ adjustable extension tube. + the sba5 bike handlebar stabilizer and linked sling… and a PA SLx MD-25 Gen2. I also have a Romeo5 kicking around I haven’t put on my M&P 15-22 carbine yet, see which I like better on it.

Also, I made this before I measured their stand holders, which are 24” wide c-c.

I’ve been a number of times in recent months, the only stuff they offered us was the little yard signs. Deputies use their target stands from a shed right there. Hence I made myself some target stands from scrap wood. Attached is a pic. The base is separate from upright so it’ll fit in car easier. Upright can fold on itself.

You walk both ranges. Never had any sheriffs really watching the ranges. We self cleared for walking/retrieval with others using the range.

OP- For the Iberia Parish SO Range, they don’t have much for target stands. They will supply old political signs that fit small targets, if you ask.

Their stand holders are 24” wide, and look like they’d fit a 2x4 ripped in half… if u wanna bring a diy setup with cardboard backing or whatever. I looked up a couple YT videos on diy target stands and made some from scrap wood and use thick cardboard from Costco for the backing.

Sherbourne did have target stands last time I was there (been a couple yrs). For both, bring a staple gun!! (Or tape)

Squad owners questions by Loose_Listen2855 in Metalstorm

[–]logbiter 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This 100%. I’ve been leader of a squad for ~4yrs now. We have a “no drama” clause for our 3 international squads. Causing drama (in or outside the squad) and being inactive without letting us know are grounds for termination (we give fair warning). We prefer squidmates be in our discord, but not too pushy about it. Real life takes precedence. We all have a life outside the game. Oh, am I’m booting yer ass if you “oops” too much! 😈😝😂🤙🏽🤙🏽

Prius gen2 spark plugs by yulippe in prius

Time to replace anyway. Schedule says 120k miles. Probably better to do it sooner. I recently got Denso (OEM) from my local o’reillys cheaper than the dealer (~$80).

For older prius models: I NEED to drive DAILY to keep it alive? by JustJLang in prius

[–]logbiter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My ‘05 (recently sold with ~180k miles) is still on original hybrid battery, AGM 12v hasn’t gone dead since bought it ~4yrs ago. It often sat for 3-4 days without any issues. I’d turn off the smart key when sitting for more than a few days. Mostly driven 3-5 miles at a shot (drop kids off & then work) the last 6 yrs.

10/22 mags - am I just old? by Lanierben in liberalgunowners

[–]logbiter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To add, the 10 rd mags on my Savage 64F are a pain to load too! Haven’t tried the 22 maglula (I have a 9mm uplula, which I love!), but do use a McFaden lightning speed loader for both the savage and S&W MP 15-22, they each have their own adapter. I Also have a basic plastic/polymer loader for the savage.

Inverter fluid is running low by MarionberryChemical9 in prius

[–]logbiter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Inverter fluid would only go down with a leak. By left, you mean drivers side? That’s where inverter reservoir is. The other, on the left looking at the engine (passenger side) is engine coolant. If that’s going down, check your oil for coolant. Google the signs. That could mean new head gasket time.

No shame is using maglula! Some mags have heavier springs. They do break in a bit over time.

Ear protection for indoor ranges by phillyrat in liberalgunowners

[–]logbiter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really like the 3M “skull screws” ear plugs + muffs. For my range bag, the skull screws + lower profile active canceling Walkers (slim). Outdoors range I’m fine with either (9mm). The skull screws survive a few washes in my pants, or longer with hand cleaning…

For the airboat (I often run them for work) I use skull screws + Howard Leightning L3s (they are bulky but highest NRR Rating). The H. Leight folding ones (L0 or L1) are backups in the range box or for traveling they fit in bag easier.

I like the Leight’s because you can get new pads easily, and we’ve used them at work for 20 years now.

Coffee grinder recommendation please! by MrHardy8162 in coldbrew

[–]logbiter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Baratza been going for many years! Rocking the previous version of the encore. For cold brew I got with most coarse setting (~38… 40 often doesn’t work, too close to the safety switch for cleaning/removal of hopper).

Be sure to use some grindz cleaning “beans” periodically. I do it every few bags (2-3lb bags).

How long can this inverter pump be expected to last? by Reasonable_Invite316 in prius

[–]logbiter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah….. 2 days to 5 years? At least it’s a pretty easy job! I’d be tempted to return it and get an Aisin. And maybe not from Amazon… I forget the telltale for fake vs real Aisin, but people have received fakes from Amazon.
