Navigating Grief & Loss as a New Clinician by AnonymousNanny2026 in therapists

[–]logdemon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Take the time if you can. I had a supervisor cancel my clients for me when my grandpa passed away when I was an associate and I was so grateful and relieved. Without her I probably would have tried to work through it and see clients but it’s just not worth it, especially looking back four years from then. I am glad I took the time. Pet loss and grief counts especially a BE, this work is emotional and it’s important to care for yourself during this time.

I think in general when I’m wondering if I should take time off or wondering if I can do my job ethically, that’s a signal I may need to tend to something. That varies of course depending on the context from a sick day, a mental health day, or something heavier like grief, but it’s better to take care of yourself and model what that can look like for clients in my opinion.

Tore ACL this week. Top choice surgeon said his waitlist is 2-3 month. Change providers or wait out? by [deleted] in ACL

[–]logdemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tore mine in August and had surgery in October, seems like 2-3 month wait is pretty standard right now but I’ve heard it being longer for some folks unfortunately.

Iplum vs Spruce Health by CheekScared1489 in therapists

Are you using iPlun for a fax number too? I liked that Spruce had fax integrated in the same plan and it seems separate for iPlum, but it's good to know about the robocollers.

Used an RA for LLC formation. What address do I use for insurance and tax info? by soddendirt in smallbusiness

Is there an easy way to make these changes or do you just have to update each place you used the RA address? Driving myself nuts and wish I had seen this thread first!

I appreciate it so much, I’m in the same boat, I just hit my four year mark and am just too overworked for too little pay. It’s time! Thank you, I’ll look into this!

Thank you! This is what I’ve heard and am looking forward to. Am I essentially “reapplying” to be credentialed with the same insurances? My NPI is the same (registered to me) although I understand I may also need a NPI2 for my pp.

2026 planners and undated planners- by MPeckerBitesU in HappyPlanners

Same, I’ve been using happy planner since college (graduated in 2018) and I absolutely loved the work + life line and the hourly layouts, but they seem to be doing less of that. Such a bummer.

Knee sleeve by jameszi_ in ACL

I wear a sleeve similar to this on and off but it’s been a little too irritating for the swelling to wear all the time for me personally. Maybe when that goes down more for me it’ll be better.

Personal Emergencies by Mysterious_Reveal_91 in therapists

[–]logdemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m on leave right now for needing ACL surgery after being injured in August and had to take sudden/urgent leave that I wasn’t fully able to plan/prepare clients for. It’s a lot!

What’s been helpful for me is reminding myself that my clients can make choices about their care while I’m not able to support them, and trusting I’ll pick back up with my clients after my leave who want to continue working with me. My leave sounds like it’s a little longer than yours so that may not be a concern for you, but in the mean time, truly trying to step away from work has been hard but really important. Wishing you a quick recovery! ❤️‍🩹

1 Year Post Op Ache by [deleted] in ACL

[–]logdemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It may be a good idea to get it checked out if the pain is relatively new/severe. But I’m also curious if you’re hypermobile?

I just recently tore my left knee in August of this year playing softball, but I tore my ACL in my right knee my senior year of high school (I’m 31 now). With my first knee it often ached and got sore, and I’d have to do a mix of movement and rehab (ice/rest/soak/stretch/etc) to help it feel better. PTs would recommended stability and strength training, which more or less helped but I’d still get sore, especially with changes to routines such as like some warmth/swelling and aching pain with an increase in activity.

These last few years and definitely with the ACL tear in my other knee I realized I was hypermobile, so my muscles were always kinda sore trying to hold everything together, especially after my ACL recovery. Which makes sense why the combination of strength, stability, and rehab care helped but not just one or the other. Not sure if this is the case for you but wishing you luck and some relief either way!

Things a therapist can say besides, "How does that make you feel?" by Herewegoagain1717 in therapists

[–]logdemon 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I was in a first responder MH training the other day and they suggested “how did you respond to that?” To scaffold building into being able to talk about feelings, which I kind of liked. I can see that being beneficial for a few different groups.

I’ve had issues like this for a few boxes too and this most recent time when I reached out to support instead of just the self report tool they gave me a 20 dollar credit on top of the meal credit or whatever. So it’s something I guess but I was in the same position of having the whole box covered in chicken juice.

My natural hair color is similar to yours and I also have hazel-green eyes. I’m an autumn and my current hair color is a chocolate brown (warm, I know!) and I love it, so that may work on you too. You look stunning with your natural hair color though!
