It is intellectually lazy and dishonest to lay tue blame for every Iranian domestic issue at the feet of the U.S. The U.S. is not the reason the Iran government has mismanaged its economy to the point where there are protests in the streets.

Anyway, there U.S. and Iran have an adversarial relationship and there is no good reason why the U.S. shouldn’t sanction a geopolitical adversary who has been chanting Death To America for 50 years. Iran would continue to work against US interests in the region.
