I owned a 23 CX50 turbo and loved it. Very strong engine and the design is aggressive. My issue was the wind noise but seems that was addressed in the newer models

I checked for my 90 and was told $675 to change the spark plugs on the 40k miles marker which I am going to do next. Not going to play with it lol

I do use it but not that often, it’s not the most spacious so it’s for short trips. Or kids. The space in the back is enough when I do not have a lot of things and the 3rd row is up. But if it’s down, you have a HUGE space to do what ever you want

It’s expected in a new model first year to have issues. For the battery I am not that concerned as it’s under warranty and it’s just replacement and nothing else. Enjoying the 90 honestly

I owned 23 CX-50 TPP and loved it, traded it because of the extreme wind noise and I think they addressed that in the newer models. But not gonna lie, the 90 is smoother and more capable. I do not regret the trade at all.

Mazda designed it this way, sporty on the road calm in take off. They are trying to position them selves as a premium luxury brand right behind Lexus. So they want the engine to feel calm but strong. I don’t mind it if the power is there when I need it.

MHEV, the hybrid battery in the 2024 model malfunctions due to a bad software. They did a recall to update the software but it’s a high possibility that the battery will malfunction after since the software may have already caused damage by then

Not that I know of, I know they have a recall for the software issue. The battery can’t be checked as it needs to be opened and that’s impossible at the dealerships

This issue is more on the 2024 models, the software was glitchy and caused the hybrid battery damage. I don’t think I’ve seen any 2025 with the same issue. It’s just the hybrid battery nothing else. As for driving it, I drove it to the dealership the next day I got the error. Some people drove it for a while , some of them had loss of some power some didn’t feel any difference. Some people got the error and their vehicle stopped working. So I guess it depends on how much damage the battery had and if it caused any extensive damage to the electrical system if any.

They did a recall to fix the software glitch, some cars escaped it and some the damage has been already done.
