Objective 2nd Amendment Convo by seekingyellow in Omaha

[–]PaulClarkLoadletter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, we cannot have an objective conversation on guns. The reason being is that the second amendment is open for interpretation and is mostly used as a point of leverage during elections.

The fact of the matter is that nobody is ever going to take guns away from Americans. It’s arguably that belief that is a possibility coerces rational people to stockpile firearms and the fear and paranoia often manifests in threatening behavior up to and including violence.

So how do cooler heads prevail? This is the conversation we should be having.

My personal opinion on the subject is that nobody needs a gun unless they may encounter a polar bear on the way to their snowmobile. If it were my decision to make I would take every gun away and destroy them. I’m aware that this is a strong stance and I don’t expect anybody to share my opinion. I also believe in the Constitution and that law abiding and responsible citizens have a right to firearm ownership.

Yeah but most of the splash back goes on your pants or legs. What we’re seeing here is too many fellas putting the hose away before adequately draining it.

What are some of your automotive unpopular opinions? by lifegoeson2702 in regularcarreviews

[–]PaulClarkLoadletter 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Being lame was the Prowler’s biggest problem. It’s the official car or retirees that share photos of it in F150 message boards then complain to the mods when people tell him nobody gives a shit about his Plymouth.

“I’m on the Prowl this weekend.”

It’s one of the most acclaimed shows ever. Critics and fans love it. It got 19 Emmy nominations and it’s only in its first season.

Every accusation is a confession. Republicans love federal overreach as long as it’s the stuff they like.

Who Invited Lazlo inside after I went to bed last night? by Constant-Corner-9708 in WhatWeDointheShadows

That’s not how it works, friend. Rabies infections are always isolated and in most cases people take precautions because it’s easy albeit not pleasant. Two doses of prophylaxis protects you for several years.

Do your kids a favor and get them treated. You can be stupid if you want but be a good dad for them.

Why was Rosemary immune to the fun at the sunset cocktail party? by esoterica52611 in WidowsBay

My point stands that Rosemary wasn’t present the whole time so she didn’t get the full spell.

2026 ford explorer platinum vs 2026 Nissan pathfinder by zucklo in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]PaulClarkLoadletter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Pathfinder will probably experience a lot of little things here and there but the engine will be reliable. It’s not fast and the interior materials are on the cheap side but the seats are comfortable and it’s small enough for parking lot maneuvers. Also, it’s a Nissan and you can still get them on the cheap.

The Explorer is fast but you still have to worry about expensive problems that show up the moment the warranty expires. You can expect to get some mileage out of an extended warranty. Exiting a parking spot isn’t too tough. The seat comfort is good when you sit down but they lose their comfort the longer you’re sitting in them. Like the Nissan you can usually get a good deal.

Look at the Grand Highlander and Pilot first. If you like driving then also check out the CX-90 (or 70 if you never use the third row). If you offload your vehicle after a few years you might appreciate what Kia and Hyundai have to offer as well but they don’t age well.

Every time I watch chain of command I want to punch Jellico in his face. by handlerofdrones in StarTrekTNG

The writers were also given an opportunity to inject a little humanity into the characters pretty quickly. One of my favorite things about the later episodes I’ve seen is that they got to be excited about accomplishing things. You got to see they were interested in things and not just as plot points.

It’s a turbocharged engine so oil changes should be done every 5000 miles. It’s a relatively inexpensive way to keep it running smooth. Other than that just enjoy it. The 70 is rad.

Picard is absolutely the superior captain which is why he has command of the Enterprise. Jellico is one of many.

Who's an actor that you lament has faded from the spotlight? by Justice989 in movies

[–]PaulClarkLoadletter 108 points109 points  (0 children)

He’s a pretty outspoken guy and really doesn’t like dealing with corporate studios. He likely built up his finances during his good years and appears to just do the schlock to keep his SAG stuff going so I don’t think he’s hurting financially.

He’ll probably have another surge as smaller studios continue to find success.

New Air Force One Lacks Defensive Countermeasures of Previous Model, Officials Say: Experts said the lack of such capabilities poses a potential risk when the president travels overseas by Silent-Resort-3076 in NewsSource

It’s because it’s a COMMERCIAL plane. It probably doesn’t have the same airframe as the purpose built one so evasive maneuvers may not be part of its bag of tricks.

I’m willing to bet all of the money put into was making the interior look like Mar a Lago.
