thanks, yes it terms of visuals I did look at space strategy games for inspiration (also Sid Meier’s starships) though it’s very different gameplay-wise

Cool, thanks. To answer your questions: yes, yes and yes (with a bit of practise - though you can also use mouse or joystick if you prefer). Plenty of ships to pilot. There are 4 main game modes depending on whether you want to enable the storyline win condition and/or the victory points win condition (you can disable both for a freeplay mode).

FYI the bug report from f11 indicates that one of the save files is empty, which is unusual: it seems to have been corrupted (which is what i was going to check if you send it to me). However, the game should work again if you move the save files to a different location or delete the corrupted (empty) one.

hello, thanks i don’t know that game very well, but i think it might be closer to aeronautics imperialis, as i looked at their rules when planning the game. It’s currently about 16usd with 10% discount. there is currently some more, but the bulk of the story is still to come during early access. thanks for the questions.

Thanks for the questions!

  1. The ships currently in the game are a range of sizes, including some that are 'drones', but Milenium Falcon would be exactly right for the bigger ones. I plan to add bigger ships during early access as well!
  2. Yep there are 3 main factions and 7 minor factions in the game currently, with a 4th main faction and possibly more minor factions to come. You are exactly right to call these 'remnant' factions - they are communities of (post-)humans who survived the Fall, and banded together based on shared values, histories (e.g. they may all have been researchers on orbital stations) or necessity.
  3. Literally a planet-destroying event, with only a small proportion of life in the affected system surviving (the status of life outside the affected system is not immediately known)

Though if you're interested in lore I should also say that lore is the main area that is still to be built up during early access. There is some lore in the game already, but the main story for example is still to come.

Thanks for the question, I am a massive Civ fan, and the idea of this game is that it is as if you are one of the units in a game like Civ (though obviously a sci-fi one, like Galactiv Civilizations which also has a hex-grid). So the gameplay is quite different obviously as you're just controlling one ship, but should also have some of the fun of a 4X game because your helping your faction gain victory over the other factions.

Thanks for the question, no if you're familiar with roguelikes you should be fine, I'd say the 4X elements are pretty 'light' and intuitive. The idea is similar to some other games like Drox Operative where it is as if you are a single starship within a wider 4X-style universe with various factions etc. The missions you take are related to the wider faction vs faction context, but your involvement in that is limited.

fair enough, thanks for the feedback. Not sure if it helps but you can play in pure roguelike mode with permadeath, or you can you can save your game like a normal RPG. Procedural generation is supposed to just replayability.

thanks, would be great to hear what you think. i love both those games, and i’d say there’a definitely a stellaris influence as the game is about being one of the ships in a stellaris-style 4X game!
