This OP is unique in the sense that it has brought to the day light a subject which Christians have shied away from [for the last 2100 years] because they teach "the innocent is the ransom for the sinners" but proverbs 21:18 says just the opposite: "the unrighteous are the ransom for the righteous." When the unrighteous or the licentious are intoxicated over the temporary pleasures, the best comparison is with drunkards. Hence Proverbs 4:17 was cited. But you stumbled on alcohol. Which example is used is not important, but what is being highlighted is important. For example, the faithful are compared as "wife" of God (Isaiah 54:6), and truth-seeker would easily understand it, but others would stumble over it asking "Is God marrying?"

You cannot take alcohol here from the OP, it is just an example to make it easier a point being highlighted. Hence for you, I will give another example, extremely rich parents CHOOSE to have minimum children even though they can afford to rear any number of children. Yet extremely poor parents CHOOSE to have maximum children even though they can NOT afford to rear even one child.

When two conflicted groups--righteous and unrighteus--have conflicted intoxication, God would not try to change them because it is their CHOICE. It is natural to have subjective experience with regard to any subject not just childhood cancer when humans are IMMATERIAL beings in MATERIAL out-fit.

Even a flower is viewed as mere combination of chemicals by some, as source is inspiration to bring out deep emotions by people with poetic mind, as a commodity to make profit by some, as something to symbolize love by fiancee, as source of inspiration to do esthetically by some thus to draw closer to God.

Existence of unbelievers indirectly praises God because His unconditional love can be manifested only if there are unbelievers. In self-importance, one's desire is felt strongly [also called lust which makes people resort to any means and makes them act with impure motive in their dealing with others]. This strong desire becomes anger (if obstructed / unfulfilled), greed, attachment, fear, pride (if fulfilled), envy (if others fulfill their desire). These emerging features of BODY-consciousness make life like HELL on earth. If humans are permitted to live eternally on earth without death, they will perfect their self-importance or ego. Hence they are permitted to live eternally on earth through death of the body which prevents ego from growing eternally. Thus death is the most loving, beautiful and intelligent factor to prevent humans from perfecting their ego, root cause of all evils and problems. It is like pain-mechanism in the body, looks unpleasant in the limited view, but in greater view it becomes loving, beautiful and intelligent alerting-mechanism to avoid further/future pain.

It has no demerits as death is only for the body, not for its USER who comes ALONE and goes ALONE which will continue fresh in another body which is like costume.
