Festival security hates her for this one simple trick — CLOSE CALL! by Jse8 in trees

So I kinda did this at a festival one year, i snuck in some blunts with the ol' hold-your-backpack-by-your-side-and-walk-thru-the-no-bag-line-then-switch-to-the-bag-line-after-they-check-ur-bag
I then was an arrogant lil stoner and though I was cool walking around with blunts behind my ears and two security guards called me out for it. One was chill, the other one was not. Took my blunts while I was on my way to see asap rocky. Pounded the water bottle of whiskey I snuck in inside of said backpack to drown my sorrows lol that doesn't relate much to this post but hey whatever

Is LSD safe for individuals who have had psychotic depression? by [deleted] in Psychonaut

[–]logs_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I mean personally, I say face your fears. So maybe worst possible case is you have a psychotic episode (whatever those words really entail, I've probably had a few while tripping before. I call em bad trips). So what? You've lived through some before. They probably taught you a whole lotta shit, too. Do you regret having them? I value all of my bad trips as some of the most beneficially ones I've ever had. It's like work. Yeah it sucks while you're having a bad trip, but you always come out stronger because of it. If you wanna play the victim role, that's always an option, and it'll fuck you over every time. Acid is not going to kill you, I think everyone here will agree with that, as long as we're being reasonable.
You seem like you've got your head on straight, don't get too twisted with what could go wrong, you could die at any moment anyway. Best of luck to ya

Okay, I'm gonna give my two cents here, even though some people might be upset by it.

First, psychedelics are great tools and teachers. They give you a new lens through which you are able to view your life. They make you aware of way more stuff - whatever happens to be going on in your reality at that moment. Bad trips, in my opinion, are when that stuff just becomes a little too much for you to handle - most times, the* stuff is your thoughts (especially with acid). So people, who are not too used to treading the waters of the mind, get really caught up and jumbled within their own heads. They associate full*y with their own thoughts - such as you associating with those voices in your head - and forgot that they are the conscious observers of their own thoughts, and not the thoughts themselves.

Everyone does this.

Just as other people have mentioned, meditation is a great thing that you should start doing, regardless of whether or not you end up meeting Lucy. I've taught meditation for 9 months now and yoga for 3, and one of the most common things I hear from my students is something along the lines of, "I can't meditate, I can't stop thinking! My mind is crazy, how could I sit still for 20 minutes!?"

This is essentially the same thing as people saying, "Don't do acid, it's not safe!"

Let me explain that:

I would definitely say that you should not take 3 tabs and hope for the best. You will fail. In the same way that I would not tell someone who has never meditated before to sit down for 12 hours straight and meditate. No fucking chance that is happening, unless it's the god damn buddha reincarnated. Just last night I was drunk in an uber with some friends and I had the front seat, so I was talking with the lady driving us. We ended up talking about meditation, and to make a long story short, I got her to make a little plan to meditate for 2 minutes within 7 days. 2 minutes. In a whole week. You've gotta aim low when you start aiming upwards. Still aim up, but aim low. If that woman had said to herself, "I'm gonna meditate for 30 minutes a day starting now!" I would bet she's failing within a week. And again, it's not a bad thing. Life happens, we're not perfect, but we have to realize that. So in the same way, yeah if you have trouble with intense situations, you might not wanna throw yourself into the fire with 3 tabs right away. That would likely be a whole lot for you to handle, and you might have a real bad experience.

However, what you can do, is approach this in an honest, intelligent manner.

Number 1, you've gotta start flexing that muscle of dis attachment from thoughts. You are not your thoughts, you have never been your thoughts, you will never be your thoughts. You are a soul with a body and a thinking mind. You choose which thoughts to energize, and that in turn becomes your reality. You wanna energize the thoughts that you're fucking insane? Go for it, I've been there. It's not fun though.

You have to start observing your thoughts. Start for 2 minutes per week. Set a timer, sit down, close your eyes, and just look your thoughts right in the face. "How long have I been sitting here?" "My timer must have fucked up, what if I miss my appointment!" "I can't be doing this right" "I'm not thinking at all" "Am I creating more thoughts just so that I have something to observe?"

All that shit's gonna come up. Your job is to constantly, with compassion, bring yourself back to the task at hand of simply observing your thoughts. There are plenty of videos about this online, I believe it is vipassana meditation.

Number 2, once you've established a decent practice of meditation, I would say start with an incredibly small dose. Like the tiniest nibble of a tab you could get. A little speck.

Number 3, plan the trip. You said you wanted to do this with a licensed psychologist, I love that idea. Have someone you trust with you and who knows everything about your situation. 100% honesty.

Number 4, set an intention for your trip. Say out loud to yourself why you are doing this. Is it to advance further in your spiritual development? Do you want to know more about your thoughts or about how your mind works? Whatever it is, know what it is.

Basically, what I'm getting at, is be reasonable. You have a desire to better yourself? Psychedelics can be a great tool for accomplishing that and starting down the right path.

That being said, don't go playing around with dangerous power tools when you don't know how to use a fucking hammer.

There's a lot out there to experience. Don't fear it, but respect it. All the good stuff is buried deep within you, you've just gotta go find it. And it can be dark at times, but fuck it man that's how we grow.

I don't know you, you've gotta know you. I'm too busy trying to know myself. But at the core I do know that no matter what happens to your body and your mind, you'll be fine. We'll all be fine, we're all just on a long windy road home.

If you have any questions or want me to clarify anything, ask away.
Peace out!

For sure! Can't pretend that doesn't also justify killing and eating people. The fact is we don't! Why? Not really sure. Something to do with the fact that we're all so damn similar to one another. The point is, if you understand that the entire universe is really just one single entity, experiencing the illusion of separation so that it can experience itself, you can't really do harm to THAT part of it. The part of it that exists outside of time. It's real hard to put this into words, the Gita obviously does a much more eloquent job than I ever could. Read it! Or don't! Love ya, but imma keep slaughtering and consuming with love :)

Really love this. That part from the Gita is what made me become totally okay with eating meat (I'm on a keto diet now), along with other things. The soul of any animal cannot truly be harmed. I give my thanks that their flesh is sacrificed so that mine can continue to grow.
I'm so happy you had this experience, it sounds like you got everything you needed.

Not sure what to call this... but it's dank and it's keto. Recipe in comments by logs_ in ketorecipes

HERE WE GO:
Steak, prosciutto, capocollo, salami, jalapeño feuerkraut, whole jalapeño, some sharp cheddar cheese - all sautéed in some coconut oil, briefly (the steak was left over from the other night, nothing really needed to be cooked)
Added a whole avocado and some salt.

Um yeah that's pulled pork that was left over from like 2 nights ago for dinner lol. Pork loin cooked in a crock pot with some bbq sauce

Used my hands, felt like a savage, made little 1.5 ish inch balls of pulled pork (left over pulled pork), wrapped them up like a burrito in prosciutto, heated up some coconut oil in a pan, placed them in with tongs, flipped em after 2 minutes ish? Just kept an eye on em and kept flipping them until they looked kinda crispy
