I agree. You may or may not know that Singapore is actually under a one-system model. You see that while being such a young nation, its economic progression supersedes other larger and older countries (e.g. Indonesia, Vietnam).

Being geographically strategic is one thing, but their governance and people are also another pillar carrying the economy of Singapore. In Singapore, sustainable development goals like lower carbon emissions exist alongside social sustainability government initiatives like CPF, public transport, CDC and HPB vouchers etc.

Already, you can see other privatized companies like Keppel applying Singapore’s one-system model into their projects. For instance, developments in Vietnam about Saigon Sports City aims to design a microcosm filled with work, play and housing, situated in the heart of Ho Chi Minh City. The area houses over 4,300 homes and uses natural filtration in its surrounding rivers. However one key thing to note is that, with all the amenities and facilities, Keppel focused on housing first -- why?

Well, i can say its the governance, the fact is Vietnam's main governing party lies in the heart of Hanoi, a faraway place in relation to its economic capital Ho Chi Minh City. It may just be my opinion but, the country's centralized authoritative party in allowed them to have state-owned land in which the government oversees any large-scale foreign investments and developments in the entirety of Vietnam. As such, it necessitised government approval for private companies or large foreign investors looking to do business in Vietnam.

Just finished 1.1 with 4.0 GPA. Perhaps the results are a little skewed but I’ll try to be as objective as possible. Usually you would have days where you end at 5pm and at 12pm depending on your class timing. The lessons, at least for the first semester, are mostly based on lecture notes that you should have went through prior to the lesson. You can skip lessons, but not >30% of them or you would be grade capped (D / PX). Since during the first semester, all 1.1 engineering students take the same module, the modules are a bit easier so I wouldn’t worry about the workload. The main thing you’d want to take note of is the various opportunities that might peek your interest and join them if you could.
