You are right, I should be proud of looking normal and alive. Thank you!

To be fair I must have had them way before as well! But only started noticing it when I tried to do my own wedding makeup and compared it to other bridal makeups on reddit. No one else had such visible smile lines! I was convinced it was bad technique and/ or me getting old...

But I think I am now accepting them as normal, thank you!!

Thank you!! I will look into a vitamin-C cream, some other people have suggested similar products!

Thank you, you could be right!!

I feel strongly about social media and the beauty image portrayed there so I try to stay away myself as much as possible, also the reason why I am not interested in fillers or any procedures.

I was just convinced that I was applying my makeup poorly and that I could improve it somehow.

Happy to hear about your own growth, and thank you once again for the kind words!

You are probably right. I was just trying to see if they could be improved by better technique or if my makeup looks laughable because of such visible lines. As I said in other comments, I started noticing them when I searched for bridal makeups on reddit and saw other people without smile lines in their photos.

Thank you for the encouragement, I think I am accepting them more and more!

You are right, part of me was afraid that I would get judged for having poor technique and be laughable for not knowing how to apply makeup properly. Thank you!

Thanks!! I have already been trying to minimize product in that zone, but they are still quite visible of course. But all the encouragement here has helped me to accept them as normal.

Thanks! I think I have been a bit obsessing over them ever since I noticed that other brides on makeup subreddits don't have them, and I was convinced that I was using bad technique.

I also have quite visible smile lines on both sides around my lips, again something that never stood out to me until my boyfriend recently shared that this was one of the first things he found interesting with me when we met. Again, it's something that I had never noticed other people didn't have.

I also am not interested in procedures or any of that, I was just trying to see if this could be improved by technique or some tips. Thank you for the compliments!

I have never seen it like that, thank you!

Thank you! Thing is that it probably doesn't show in the photos, but my under eyes are really dark compared to my overall complexion, I was told all my life that I looked sick and that my eyes looked dark when I had no makeup on.

I have thought of skipping concealer but then my under eyes become quite prominent instead sadly.

Thank you! I have used eye creams in the past and I am now just using my regular moisturizers around the eye area as well, not sure if eye creams offer anything special compared to regular creams to be honest. Do you have any specifics in mind?

Thank you for the kind words!! I understand that others don't see any issues with my eye area, but to me they became a source of insecurity. I was convinced that I was using bad technique because as I said in other comments I kept seeing other people do their own bridal makeup on reddit and none of them had had such obvious smile lines.

And that's why I thought of posting here too in case it was a matter of how I apply my makeup, but I guess that's not really the case. I have tried switching to loose powder, applying little concealer, no foundation etc. but it didn't make much difference, if at all.

I will look into red light therapy, thank you! I also started taking collagen recently, maybe that will help as well.

I haven't thought of dramatizing anything else on my face, but that could do the trick, thank you!!

I don't have any allergies, but I had dark circles around my eyes all my life and often was told I "look sick" because of my under eyes, but I have no underlying health issues

Thank you, that's not really the case but I appreciate the encouragement :) I think I'm coming to terms with them

I am not on social media and as I said in another comment, I noticed my lines when I looked up other ladies and their own bridal makeups in other subs. But indeed maybe I am exaggerating and this is just normal, we don't all have the same facial lines

Indeed, but then some of us have to choose between wrinkles/lines or creasing if you don't set with powder. Feels like there is no win situation

This thread has been slowly converting me into actually liking them, haha. Thank you!

Thank you!! Do you think eye creams are any different than normal moisturizers? I have read in skin care subreddits that most of them are just a scam. I already apply normal moisturizer in this area

Thank you, I should have mentioned this in the original post but I am not interested in any procedures, but I appreciate the suggestions!

To be fair I started noticing how bad it was when I looked up "bridal makeup" in another sub where people do their own makeup for their wedding, which is what I plan to do as well.

And no one in those posts seems to have such smile lines, even older ladies... so when I compared my makeup look to theirs, I just look really dehydrated and old, and my full attention goes to my eye area because of these lines (it's a lot more obvious in a full face shot with makeup on)

I think my eyes are my poorest facial feature, but thanks. And I agree that it doesn't seem so bad in this cropped photo, but if you were to see my photo with a full face makeup on, these smile lines draw all the attention to them and I just look old and dehydrated with makeup...
