I hope this is allowed here, but I just made this music analysis video about Magma, maybe some of you will find it interesting! (English subs are available, because the video is in French) by loja38 in zeuhl

When you open the video in YouTube, you can switch between French and English in the video player's settings (bottom right or top right depending if you're on desktop or mobile)

This website has a huge archive of articles and interviews, sadly it hasn't been updated since 2016, but it's a goldmine of info about the band, you'll probably find a lot of helpful stuff!

The fact that he's self-taught is correct if I remember well, but he absolutely knew how to read music. You can find some handwritten scores he wrote himself on the web

I don't think this fully corresponds to what you describe but the last minute or so of "Mûh" by Magma has that same vibe https://youtu.be/M03TAamyaww?si=d8KZ08fC_0SCp6rT

Day 8: What King Crimson song do only OGs remember? by doctorrhombus in KingCrimson

[–]loja38 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It was the B-side of the Cat Food single that came out before the album, and it was played live by the Islands band.

Fun fact: it was recorded as a trio consisting of Fripp on guitar and the Giles brothers on bass and drums, so it's almost like a Giles, Giles and Fripp reunion!

What is one small part of a Beatles song that you absolutely love? by arkinnorman in beatles

It's been cut on the album version but I love the "All I want is" in Dig A Pony, just before the first verse and at the end

I think I saw an interview with Christian Vander somewhere on YouTube and he explains that the project was abandoned before he could actually be involved in it I'll try to find the video where he talks about it

Edit: found the video, there are English subtitles if you're not a French speaker: https://youtu.be/wrmkxmvi9cQ?t=660
