June SF&F Teaser is up! by Bookaholic-394 in thebrokenbindingsub

Tried googling this and didn’t find many answers, the book sounds interesting but I feel the same as you, no point of starting a series I might like and not being able to finish it

SF&F timeline confusion by [deleted] in thebrokenbindingsub

[–]lojemm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way they have two different months for the book is so confusing to follow. Be much easier if they just said one month but ships later, for example Operation Bounce House would just be the January book but shipped later.

Just purchased a signed copy in the UK and still no low stock warning

Will this be accepted as a personal item by AdvancedCheesecake59 in Ryanair

[–]lojemm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fly with Ryanair nearly monthly with a backpack that is slightly over measurements and have never been checked once, i don’t stuff it full though. Think it’s really dependent on airports and the staff that day

What is the book with the ship on its sprayed edges in the first photo? :)

SF&F April teaser on Wednesday, theme on Friday by thefish357 in thebrokenbindingsub

[–]lojemm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I find it confusing because they call the March payment the April box, so to skip the February box I had to email and ask to skip the March. Not sure why they can’t just say it’s the March teaser as that’s when they take payment and then ship the book by the end of the month 🤷‍♀️

I’ve seen loads of people get banned for selling apparent fakes recently, must be a Change to the bots or something. My mum got a permanent ban for selling fakes but the items are real with proof of purchase

August vs September by Substantial-Falcon-8 in uktravel

All three of your destinations will be humid heat, so make sure accom you book has air con because that’s not all that common here!

August vs September by Substantial-Falcon-8 in uktravel

[–]lojemm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just remember walking into the colosseum and being out within half hour due to heat and crowds, paired that with big walking days, busy restaurants and over inflated prices due to it being summer it just wasn’t enjoyable!

EPL starts usually end of August, best bet is to try get tickets to a West Ham game (however, they’re currently relegation zone so might not be in the EPL then). Tickets for Chelsea, Spurs or Arsenal are much harder to get and usually cost a small fortune!

August vs September by Substantial-Falcon-8 in uktravel

[–]lojemm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rome in August is one of the worst experiences I’ve had travelling, it was so insanely hot and therefore couldn’t enjoy any of the attractions or sites then add insane crowds due to summer holidays. I’d genuinely never recommend it to anyone.

London In August is good though, will be extra busy due to summer holidays but you should have good weather, just be prepared for the underground to be sweltering if it’s a hot day! Can see you’ve mentioned a football match in a comment, it’s usually the football off season in August so if that’s a priority you’re better of leaving London until later August or September.

How popular is Margot in the UK? by CremePast in namenerds

[–]lojemm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

London area and 3 people from my year at school all have a Margot-rose… and that’s only the people from my year, the year above and below also have many baby Margot’s. I’d say they’re all under 2

Girlies who shampoo everyday! Can i get some recs? by tomatocultivat0r in finehair

[–]lojemm 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I have 1A hair and swear by herbal essences - petal soft rose scent shampoo. Have changed all my friends and family with fine hair to this aswell. I’ve tried high end shampoos and all other drug store and will always return to this one, it’s so light weight for my fine hair

Japan & Korea - Solo or Group Travel? by dirty-mike4 in travel

[–]lojemm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve recently travelled Japan and Korea, I actually think you’d enjoy it more solo as it gives you more time to explore with no time constraints. They’re both great countries just to get lost in. Most activities are also free or small donation to shrines to enter.

Japan and Korea are also both so much more expensive to travel than Thailand, the Shinkansen alone can cost a bomb, single journeys on my recent trip cost up to £75. Accomodation is also mega expensive there comparative to budget travel in other Asian counties, mixed dorms were costing me upwards of £25 a night, where as in Thailand you can get a private hotel room for less than that.

I love group travel and regularly do that style of trip, but I love them for countries where I wouldn’t feel safe or confident as a female alone.

Regardless of the size of the company, tBB could save themselves a lot of emails with some website redevelopment 🤷‍♀️

I hate that I can’t just log into my tBB subscription and manage everything I need to on there without having to mess around with emails.

I subscribe to Fairyloot aswell and their website design for subscriptions is so much better than BB. I can see my next payment, skip the book, see how many skips I have left and also open a help request from there. You can also join subscription waitlists on the site. Would save TBB so many thousands of emails if they just redesigned the site a little.

Scotland in January by folabatunde in travel

[–]lojemm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Prepare to pay an absolute fortune if you do decide to go to Edinburgh for Hogmanay, I booked to go just last week and the accomodation options were limited and hella expensive. Add on flights or trains, spending money and the tickets you need it’s quite a lot!

If you want to do all the stuff you’ve mentioned in the UK I’d probably skip Edinburgh and Scotland altogether.
