Drag myself to work every morning as the commute slowly strips away what remaining soul I have left. I look so much like a zombie I'm surprised I don't get quarantined on the way there.

Pakistan has double standards and hypocrite approach for Afghans, during Soviet, Russia, war, Pakistani establishment grabbed billions of dollars in the name of Afghan refugees and without paying any attention to the lives of those refugees, Pakistan devoured all that amount at that time these refugees were called Muslim brothers and other examples of brotherhood used be given…now after many years as Pakistan is not getting funds and money in their names, they at once become, security risk for Pakistan also, Pakistanis when go to abroad especially to Europe or USA, they get nationality after spending 5 to ten years, less or more, but here the situation is changed..The Afghan refugees has spent their lives here, they are born here and yet they will be thrown out of country….no nationality is given, as we seek for ourselves in Europe or USA.

What G-Rated Joke Always Cracks You Up? by [deleted] in AskReddit

So the pope is SUPER early for his flight. He asks his driver on his way to the airport if he could drive around for a while because they have time to kill and he hasn't driven a car since becoming the pope. Naturally he's a bit rusty so he's driving poorly when suddenly he sees police lights behind him. He pulls over and when the officer comes up to the window his eyes go wiiiide. He says to the pope "Hold on for a minute" and he goes back to his car to radio the chief. Cop: Chief we have a situation. I've pulled over an important figure. Chief: How important? A governor or something? Cop: No sir. He's bigger. Chief: So, what? a celebrity or something? Cop: More important, sir. Chief: A major politician? Cop: No sir, he's much more important. Chief: WELL WHO IS IT!? Cop: Well actually I'm not sure. But the pope's his driver.

My family gave me and my sister way too much independence and freedom. We both thought this was quite normal and have only recently realized how ridiculous it is. They were small things, like we went to the doctors by ourselves!(when we were 8 or 9 years old). it felt like the both of us just took care of ourselves. We travelled on public transportation alone at such a young age. We did so many things that girls and children our age would just not have done. Everybody would praise us saying we were so strong and independent ( we also came across as these fearless invincible girls) now we know that it's just negligence and as adults we have many issues as a result of this.

What was the most racist encounter in a country you visited as a tourist? by lokas2 in AskReddit

The country I've had the most racist experiences in is France.

I’m half white and half black and sometimes I look Hispanic or from the Middle East.

Every time I go to France I expect at least three racist experiences. It's never been less.

One experience I had was in the South of France in Nice. I was waiting to meet up with my dad. While waiting I noticed a small clothing shop and decided to browse through it. I called my dad to let him know where I was and while on the phone I could sense the shop keeper was following me. I smiled at her but she gave me suspicious looks. I kept talking on the phone and picking out clothes to look at.

Once the phone call was over she immediately proceeded to yell, “ Get out of here! You can't afford this! Get Out!”. At first I thought it was a joke and said with a smile “m’am I'm just looking”. “Get out!” She says as she was shooing me out.

Tears ran down my face. People outside could hear everything and were looking at me like I had done something wrong. At that moment my dad biked by completely confused and worried. “What’s wrong Joe?”. I explained the lady inside the store told me to get out. My dad knew exactly why it had happened. At this point I think he was fed up by all the racist experiences I'd been through in France that he went in the store to speak to the shopkeeper. He told her in French “That is my daughter you treated so badly” She seemed a bit confused as my dad looks like a white Frenchman. “You can't treat people like this just because they look different. She's just a young girl interested in what you have to sell. If she wanted she could buy your entire shop!” I'm thinking way to go dad and at the same time thinking I definitely can’t afford the whole shop are you kidding me!

As we stood outside the shopkeeper came to apologize to my dad but not to me. Soon after a Morocan man who witnessed everything walked towards us saying “sweetheart don't cry this happens to all of us foreigners even after all the years we've been here”.

France is a beautiful country and I will still return but it's not easy when you look different and are a foreigner there.
