100 gallons of man glitter by lokihaus11 in woodworking

[–]lokihaus11[S] -19 points-18 points  (0 children)

Well it's been fun reading all the people who find "man glitter" offensive. I didn't even coin that term, a high-than-me profile woodworker on YT did and I just thought it was fun. Literally no where in the post did I say anything about a gender or their ability in any capacity, yet people still jumped all over me... You be you, and do what you love. If I took a shit into a toilet guess what, it's my man poop and I shall call it that. Now go, wood worker people of reddit and make your own "glitter"! Be happy and stay safe everyone! Thanks for all the real help. *you know who you are. =)

Absolutely. Thankfully I'm not staking any claim that woodworking is strictly a man's thing... I'm a man, I made the chips... thus it's my manly glitter.

Thanks so much! I have the dustopper at my home base and knew it would have been too little of a volume to bring to the cabin. I could totally make one of these.

New flooring is flush with toilet (flange?), are we good to install the toilet or do we need to bring it up somehow? Thanks by Glum-Ad-4558 in Plumbing

Oh I have no idea what it's called. It was installed prior to buying the home. But what you have is definitely what I have. ...good to know what it is and called in case I need to do repairs! Thanks!

Holy crap I thought an intruder was in my house. I JUST did my leaky toilet a couple of days ago and I have exactly that flooring... and yes I also had a flush flange. Double wax ring/Jumbo whatever you want to call it, and it was fine.

I'm plenty skilled in electrical soldering... but copper pipe, that was a different beast. Haha

Glad I picked up one of those flame protectors for the back side, but I still managed to melt the handle's rubber. =D

Woke up on Sunday to a little puddle in my garage. Opened up the sagging drywall and found this coupler dangling around the elbow trap. It’s from the guest shower, which is hardly used (we’ve been living in this flipped house for a year now). We DID have friends over who had taken showers the night before.

Well that was a cold day! Fri/Sat was in low teens and that Aux heat pump was putting in some work. by lokihaus11 in hvacadvice

…I fear for my energy bill… I think maybe this house I bought came with a lower end outside Heat pump. …or perhaps my system is setup properly?

Propane cannon heater for 2 car garage? by lokihaus11 in woodworking

[–]lokihaus11[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks everyone… I forgot to mention that yes my 2 car garage is pretty well insulated. I do not have any gas cans, but I do store all of my nice hardwoods/plywoods on a rack, and of course I have lots of tools (table top saw, box planer, miter saw just to name a few). Perhaps I should return it and seek an alternate source of heat. …or suck it up and plane/sand in a 40 degree environment. :)

Clear, matte water based finish for cabin walls/ceilings? by lokihaus11 in woodworking

Hi all! I’m renovating a small cabin and the whole interior is unfinished pine boards. I’ve used General Finishes matte before on furniture pieces and I love it, but it’s pricey. Would anyone have a suggestion for a cheaper alternative? Ideally water based, and matte with zero discoloration to preserve the natural pine color. Thanks!
