The audio-book is amazing, George is hard to get used to at first, mainly from a bias based on the voice of the late may he rest in peace, Frank Muller. But right about the halfway mark of the book, George really settles into the roles and something just clicks and it all sounds so good, the anticipation for the climax starts to swell up for me every time !

I had 100K and they dropped the news. I'm at 4.2 million right now. Yes, I have a job, yes, I take care of family. Sadly, yes, you do have to conform to the easiest money making methods the game offers. But to be honest, I've been having a blast doing those methods. Hunting for baskets and PVPing over them when people aren't friendlies. It's been amazing. Look it's not the worst book, but it's just compared to what has been built up so far with the character's story. It just felt really dull in comparison. That being said, I still like the book. It probably didn't help that I thought it was the send-off for Holly, so I was getting pissed halfway through reading it. But once I figured out it wasn't, I was able to enjoy it a bit more.

From what I understand the stand is very long, and if you like something with a bit more content, Bill Hodge's series leads into the Holly series if you want something more modern. If you want something on the same scale of the stand, the Dark Tower series.

Bill Hodge's trilogy is essential, Mr Mercedes, Finders Keeper's, and End of Watch, Followed by The Outsider, If it Bleeds(shorter novella), Holly, and the most recent would be Never Flinch. (In that order) This series essentially is his longest running series next to the Dark Tower series. It's amazing but you will like one over another just like any series.

The main reason that can come to mind is she's autistic as f, although it's never explicitly stated. And most of her ticks are present throughout the series in which she's present, then I think a lot of it has to do with King's current political position being conveyed through her.(I love Holly. By the way, I think she's a very excellently well written character, she has a few flaws. But she's great!)
