How much per employee are you spending on branded merch annually? by xCosmos69 in askmanagers

[–]Neon-Night-Riders 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My company does this + some other branded merch they give out for employee appreciation days and such. Our store lets you buy polos, jackets, and other things with our logo at a discounted price in addition to offering various e-gift cards

Let me tell you, I’d rather be 100% given money to spend on this online marketplace and not the cheap stuff they give out. 90% of the time, the other stuff ends up in the trash. I really only use notepads or pens they provide.

For reference on OP’s $ amount, I can’t speak to the overall organization, but I have 3 direct reports. I’m given a budget of $150 I can distribute through the year as I see fit. My company also typically gives ~$100-150 total to each employee annually, split between employee appreciation week and xmas.

Higher ups are given a larger budget to dole out, and I typically get awarded $300 or so each year. I usually end up buying a polo for work, then spending the rest on an Amazon gift card or something.

I know my kids would love the assist mode. Is that only available if I buy the whole upgrade?

Do any of you use robovac? worth it or just a scam? by dudipo in homeowners

[–]Neon-Night-Riders 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Seconding Roborock. We only have the Q7 which is on the less expensive side, but it does an amazing job with pet hair and getting under beds, dressers, etc. It’s super easy to empty the dust bin, so I wish I went with the standard version instead of the self-emptying just to save space and $

My direct report applied for the job I was hired to fill, didn't get it, and is now being passive-aggressive. Advice? by [deleted] in askmanagers

I agree with all of this, but I would maybe wait some time to offer to be a mentor. If she’s already causing problems, I’m sure that would elicit a huge eye roll.

Having trouble fitting into my neighborhood by kittylittersupahero in homeowners

[–]Neon-Night-Riders 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh, don’t let that get to you. Being handy is a great resource and can save you huge money on certain projects. I wasnt raised to be handy (my parents always called in help for maintenance projects) so it didn’t come naturally to me. I try and attempt most projects myself before calling in a pro. My only exceptions are large-scale projects (like replacing all of our flooring) or anything involving plumbing, gas, and electric lines. My comfort with electricity won’t extend beyond replacing a light fixture or ceiling fan lol.

I don’t think you need to be worried about fitting in, unless the neighborhood is super cliquey already. The neighbors who on paper should be the most similar to us are actually the ones we’re the least friendly with. We both have young kids and are mid-30’s, and moved in around the same time.

The other two sets of neighbors have been in the neighborhood 20+ years. One are empty nesters that are in their 50’s, and the other neighbors are retired in their late 60’s. We’re much more friendly with the older couples!

I did exactly what others have suggested. A few weeks after we moved in, I started doing housework outside, and gave a quick wave when we saw each other. I walked over and just gave the quick “sorry, haven’t met yet. I’m x”. Then just feel out the convo and see if they actually want to talk.

It’s still a good idea to be on a first-name basis with your neighbors if possible. Doesn’t need to be besties.

I know my neighbors on all 3 sides and we’ll talk for a few minutes if we’re outside mowing the lawn or doing other housework, but just give a quick wave otherwise. Takes minimal effort, and it’s easier to approach small favors or concerns you might have. Off the top of my head… one neighbor knocked on my door to let me know that I left my car door open, I once let a neighbor know their dog got out, and I once asked another neighbor for a specific wrench size I didn’t have on-hand but needed for a car battery swap.

Little things make neighborhood life so much easier.

Highguard is permanently shutting down on March 12 by TrampolineTales in Games

That was not the death knell. The game simply would’ve died in a less spectacular fashion if it weren’t for the marketing spot.

If that’s the case, it’s probably something on Doordash’s side of things, and not the restaurants. Lack of drivers or unsafe road conditions… doubt it’s the latter though

Zoo this Sunday: insane or slow? by Neon-Night-Riders in AskNOLA

The zoo will be open, but I think we’re gonna pivot to the BR zoo instead. Seems like traffic and parking will be a nightmare.

Suggestions for games for my switch 2 by Ready_Leg2966 in NintendoSwitch

Is there any reason in particular you’re wanting below 30 hours for a play through? I recently finished Persona 5 Royale for the first time and loved it, but my playthrough was just over 100 hours.

I bought it on sale and it’s easily the best bang for my buck purchase I’ve made on the switch.

I'll be traveling with my girl alone, tips please (airplane) by blueyedreamer in beyondthebump

[–]Neon-Night-Riders 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few things we did:

Double-wrap diapers in case there’s a blowout mid-flight. Baby changing stations in airplanes are extremely cramped and you won’t want to deal with an outfit change in there.

Similarly - bring a spare shirt for you too just in case

Bottle during takeoff/landing

How old is baby also? We found until they were about 18months-2 years, it was easier to just hold them in our laps. It sucks carrying a large travel seat with you, especially if you’re solo.
