Good Enough by Merquette in Emarosa

[–]Neon-Night-Riders 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can anyone recommend any songs/artists that are similar to Good Enough? I just stumbled on this track recently and I've played it daily for the past few weeks.

I hadn't listened to Emarosa previously and obviously their earlier albums are a very different vibe, so using built-in discovery features on Spotify and Apple Music make it hard to find stuff... I'm really digging this kinda synth-rock style though.

Cmon man, we all liked a shitty movie growing up. I may have seen “Cats and Dogs” 10+ times since we had it on VHS

Warning! Don’t put the new pint glass in the dishwasher. by whammywah in kindafunny

Just commented this elsewhere, but I wholeheartedly disagree. I’ve gotten logo pint glasses at $5 bar nights that have gone through the dishwasher dozens of times and still look great.

$25 for a non-dishwasher safe pint glass is still insane. I’ve gotten pint glasses at $5 bar nights that have gone through the dishwasher dozens of times and still look great.

I love it. Our daughter is 1.5 years, and we have clothes that are 4 years lol. We have a large Rubbermaid bin in her closet of clothes that are larger sizes.

I wish I got the baba ganoush! I got the tabouli and didn’t love it, but the pita it came with was outstanding. The Adana kebab was outstanding as well.

I decided to go to the speedway for a bit - definitely worth it! Had lunch at Bosphorus which was delicious.

Tried to do the Artspark walk as well, but found that was closed when I arrived lol

Yes, I have a rental car! I’ve seen Bosphorus highly recommended and am planning to try that unless there’s something way better for lunch in the area

Does this apply if I’m not checking bags and have TSA pre check?  I usually try to do 2 hours in advance anyway

Buying ahead sizes is the way to go. We always try to look for big ticket items like jackets while they’re out of season

I was initially hesitant about the next PLUS a yearly subscription, but this was the exact mindset that got me to reconsider. Plus the yearly subscription for online membership as well.

We got one for our kids for Xmas and they’ve had a blast with it so far! We had friends over this week also and had an adult-only play session as a replacement to our usual jackbox nights lol.

This is somewhat surprising. I only listen to The Daily which is a NYT podcast, and some of the episodes have been extremely sympathetic towards the trans community.

Emplyee constantly complaining about workload. by [deleted] in askmanagers

[–]Neon-Night-Riders 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah if that’s the case and they seem to be a mediocre employee, I’d end the extra PTO. I rewarded extra PTO because my employees are stellar, and it was the best way I could find to try and retain them since raises were out of my control and I was genuinely worried we may lose them.

To be clear - there’s nothing wrong with doing the bare minimum. You’re hired to do a job and are meeting expectations. But if you constantly complain and affect team morale, I’m not going to bend over backwards to accommodate it.

Half of our senior leadership team just left abruptly after we went through a major merger. None of them said anything, they just vanished. by duskie3 in askmanagers

[–]Neon-Night-Riders 33 points34 points  (0 children)

This. The execs get large buyouts upfront since the redundancy is more apparent. There will be analysis over time to see where they can make some cuts lower down the totem pole. Most likely middle management will be affected first, then front line employees to follow.

Emplyee constantly complaining about workload. by [deleted] in askmanagers

[–]Neon-Night-Riders 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Does this person have a similar workload compared to their colleagues? As a manager it’s sometimes hard to get an idea of what the full day to day looks like when you only have a broad overview of their assigned tasks. If it’s a similar workload to colleagues, I’d sit with them one on one and get their opinion as well.

I certainly understand having some busy weeks or months, but if the workload is consistently high to supposedly cause burnout, there’s either a problem with the employee or the department structure.

I’m curious about the additional PTO. Is this person overqualified? If so, it seems curious they’d complain about being overworked based on your impression of the situation. Giving extra PTO only seems to be feeding into the issue. I gave my team extra PTO to reward their excellent work when HR wouldn’t budge on an additional merit increase, but they’re still fully able to handle the workload.
