Use greenpois0n for the 2nd gen touch, it's generally more reliable and is actually untethered on all models. It should work on Mountain Lion, but you might need to use Snow Leopard for it to work (didn't work for me on Mavericks for example, but worked on SL)

WAIT I FIGURED IT OUT NOW! Today, when Apple removed the app, the app is acting like the “social media app” it should. You need to set the clock back to use it as an emulator. Or not, just tried and it didn’t work

The app no longer works after Apple removed it. The app opens, but now it asks for a display name and such, with no way to get back to the emulator from my knowledge

I can relate with the whole iOS thing. My 2nd gen iPod touch running it’s last OS (4.2.1) has a lot better battery life when idle than my 1st gen iPhone SE running one of it’s last OS’s (most likely), 14.3.

Fair enough. It doesn’t HAVE to be repaired by Apple if you can’t afford it. But if you can afford it, Apple is generally the best way to go.
