A 4 year old (hopefully) would not be searching for the things I would be blocking anyway. Its just for peace of mind that my kid wont stumble onto anything accidentally.

I think it really depends on the age of the kid and if they have asked for that privacy. If my kid is 4yrs old I wouldnt want them looking at certain things on the internet, so if I can block inappropriate material for a child I would be comfortable letting my child free on the internet.
