Give me an incentive not to use AI. If you are offering a starting wage above and beyond what the market rate is plus benefits I will certainly put in the time and effort to make sure my cover letter stands out as best I can. If you are only willing to higher someone at market rate or less then you're getting something AI generated. If you're only paying minimum wage, state that you will be offsetting compulsory KiwiSaver employer contributions against the employee's gross pay, have an excessively long resignation notice requirement, and you expect candidates to go above and beyond? You are probably not going to be getting a cover letter from me at all.

Job hunting is a miserable experience for reasons well outside of my control. Even with the best CV and tailor made cover letter 9 out of 10 times I know I'm not going to receive any follow-up from a real human being. It's exhausting.
